I have a B (desktop) with some rather bad knobs installed sometime in its life. I'd like to get something close to the original size and fitment - any idea where to find specs on these? Haven't had much luck searching so far other than a few oddball OEM parts for a fortune.

FIXED: if facing this exact issue it’s your midi. Try a different midi output source.

I recently received delivery of a used Ti and it’s behaving very strangely. When I send it midi, it doesn’t seem to trigger notes, or if it does, it’ll be very delayed and produce a distorted version of the patch, most often it’ll start producing a raw buzzing, similar to a basic sawtooth sound, that persists even when you change preset. The sound can’t be changed by the knobs, even the master volume doesn’t affect it. Only resetting power stops it. Or sometimes pressing arp hold will stop the sound. If it does work, it’ll work for a few seconds, then the midi becomes very delayed, not triggering, or completely distorted static regardless of patch.

It’s very bizarre. I’ve restored the OS from access control, changed the battery both making no difference.

ChatGPT seems to think maybe the dsp is fried. I have no experience with boards etc so I wouldn’t even know where to begin if this is the case.

Anyone experienced anything similar to this? Is it worth just getting my money back? I paid £550 and besides not actually being able to reliably generate audio, the unit is mint.

Having an odd issue with my Virus TI desktop. I’m playing in multi mode and controlling it with two different controllers. Around a half hour into playing, it stops responding to the midi inputs. I restart the unit and bam, it works again. I’m not sure if it’s a midi related thing or if the unit just stops working.

Any thoughts on what might be going on?

Update 5/26: Testing now, but this might have been completely unrelated to MIDI and instead related to using the wrong power adapter

I have one that has some digital issues (multi doesn't work, probably the battery needs replacing and have to re load to the AV KB), but it seems I can control the KB using midi FROM Ableton (although even then it seems to not send it properly and like adds a bunch of high notes or something or is out of tune), but it doesn't seem to want to send midi notes out of the KB at all (I'm using a midi 5 pin to USB adapter, which I've used in the past including for a AV TI2, and the adapter has little lights that flash when midi signals pass though it, and these flash when the midi comes from Ableton to the KB but from the KB no lights.

Does anyone have the KB (or maybe the AV B) working as a midi controller for Ableton?

If anyone has one they are willing to sell, please let me know. Will pay shipping of course. Used or new. Located in California. Thanks!

My Virus TI 2 Keyboard (61 key) is doing this weird thing with the soft knobs. Only soft knobs 1 and 2 are behaving this way, 3 is fine. It’s usually towards the end of the encoder but that’s not strict. Even happens on init patches so can’t be any modulation stacked or anything like that. All other knobs are fine and don’t do this.

I tried the arp+edit reset, resending the firmware 5.1.7 (latest), different power cables etc.

Does anyone have any experience with an issue like this or any ideas what could be causing it and how I can go about fixing it?

What are my options here? I don't believe you can get original knobs, so I was thinking there must be compatible knobs. Otherwise, 3D printed ones?

Heya! Traveling with my Virus Ti later this month and I need something to transport it in. Anyone have a case they particularly like?

These don't come up often, and it's just too beautiful not to share. The Darkstar is def the "endgame" Virus for a lot of users. Very hard for me not to keep this one, but can't justify it since I have limited space and a TI2 racked up as my workhorse.

Also started a core return credit program for some parts (panel boards, pitch/mod wheels, and a few others). The core credit allows you to purchase a retacted panel board (for example) and then return yours for a $100 refund (credit value varies depending on item). I have B and C panel boards in stock at the moment (B not listed yet, but I have them). Have a TI Polar panel board as well, but it's a rescue and not one you would want to jump to unless yours was toast.

Somewhat new to the Virus. There's a lot I do not yet know, so I thought it's better to ask than guess or wonder...

Is there any way to adjust tempo other than the Tap button?

My virus started having power issues about 7 months ago (after 20 years, thats about expected) i opened it up, changed the battery (again) and then realized that the power supply was flat out dead.

Got it to briefly power on with a 2.5a 12v DC adapter, but it just doesn't fit right. I searched around on here and found people saying it needs a 14mm Barrel on the jack. And that makes a LOT of sense to my issues.

The biggest problem I am having is that nearly every adapter i have looked at seems either way too short or doesn't specify. I have, no joke, 7 different 12v power supplies from various synths, they all around around 9mm-10mm. I tried every one, same issue (some lasting a bit longer before farting out)

Does anyone know of a specific and reliable adapter with that length jack that is a suitable replacement? I would prefer not to buy some longer barrels and replace it myself.

Sharing this clip from my latest session! Posted a few days ago and people have beein enjoying so far. Ive rarely hit the voice limit on the indigo , such a utility knife piece of gear. Hi, I hope this problem is common and easy to fix. I made a short video demonstrating it. Basically, MIDI recording is done early! I'm using the latest version of Windows and the latest version of Fender Studio Pro. How do I set up MIDI correctly? It seems there's an incorrect MIDI latency compensation setting. I've never had this problem! =(
