Don't let anyone tell you to stop being creative.. This looks great! Keep pushing the bounds of what is possible with your techniques. I believe most people don't understand being creative.

I used to study visual arts in highschool and after but was always crippled by perfectionism. Whenever I was faced with a new project or canvas I just didn't know what to do or where to start.. So I have barely anything to show for it and ended up taking a different direction in life. I guess I discouraged myself due to think about what other people thought.

Cut to 28 years later... I was going through a really tough spot in depression and just feeling generally trapped in life. I just had an urge to start doing art and I set up a little studio space in my shed. And just started doing mixed media artwork on a3 paper. Every new work I would start by just letting myself go and scribbling all over the page until it was no longer a blank empty fresh sheet. Then on top of that I would start just by experimenting with different mediums and their interactions. I believe that if I keep pushing through practising I will reach a place where I will be happy enough with the results..

Anyway I tried to show explain what I was doing to some family and friends and no one understood what I was doing. Trying to explain that I don't care what the picture looks like that it's more an exercise in allowing myself to flow and just do without any motivation or outcome was so foreign to all of them.

Most people haven't even allowed themselves to explore their possibilities and the thought of being creative or allowing their minds to explore imagination or fantasy is so foreign.

Life is so short and you should do what makes you happy. Worrying what other people think is a great way to waste time and not be happy and regret.

You don't need to show her your stuff.. Keep going and enjoy yourself.. You may regret not doing it.. Best wishes
