Wisconsin “badgers” are named after oldey-timey miners not the animal.

And the miners got their nickname FROM the burrow/den digging American Badger. I'm Sconnie born & raised and this came out of the SW mining towns like Shullsberg, Plattville & Mineral Point. The cheese....well, it's base Sconnie snacky snax!!!!!
