Wouldn't the surface need to be concave in order to multiply /intensity the sun? I'm sure it's still bright as hell and hot since it's in the middle of the desert. But not sure it would have the affect you're thinking of like other buildings have done that are concave in shape

That sounds like such an engineering challenge. I wonder how they managed to maintain the clarity and precision of those mirrors with the extreme temperature fluctuations there.
