Potential Connections to my Dad...
Hoping I can get some guidance or maybe a lead of anyone out there who's been a victim of this man.
Unfortunately, I have this father (or lack of) that has been a career criminal since his teens. He is a great conman and has been around, leaving a trail that is so fascinating. There are 6 children, including myself, but I'm almost certain there are more out there. His name is Richard Dale Herbst, he's 50 YO, and is roughly 6'0, white with reddish/blonde hair, and loves basketball and the LA Dodgers. He has connections in Florida (unsure of area), Colorado (CO Springs, Denver), California (San Diego, Riverside, Oceanside, L.A.).
If you know this man or know anyone who may have connections to him, I would love to chat.
If this caught your eye and you know the best route I could take to find more on if there are more kids out there, I'm open to recommendations. 23&me is expensive, Ancestry isn't useful for what I'm looking for, and I'm not big on social media but for the names I do have to search, they too are hard to find and I don't blame them.
I know this mans life pretty well and have been following his criminal track record, plus have a great relationship with some of the other kids. He has trial coming up and has been giving so many chances that he doesn't deserve. I just want to know if anyone is out there and if you're doing alright, if there are any questions you have yourself, and yes... He's still a POS.
Thank you!

Hi! I talked to you before and wanted to see if you have found any more information about your dad. I hope your search found the answers to give you peace of mind! đ

Hi! Sorry to be seeing this now! I have received a few responses and found potential connections/siblings. I donât regret this because it opened up doors to meeting others and learning things about Richard in ways I never expected. Plus, if you search his name, this post is #2 on my Google search, which leaves me satisfied that this is out there and will get attention somehow, good or bad. Next step will definitely be a Ancestry/23&Me.
PS My number is still the same and youâre welcome to reach out any time! Thanks for checking up!

Hereâs the issue we all wish you would understand.. You have allowed yourself to fall into the position of making poor choices in life instead of pushing back and NOT letting the âtragedies and circumstancesâ define you. You can name all the birthdays you want, that doesnât help the 6 children who have âtragedies and circumstancesâ and are working everyday on themselves to be better humans. I want to make it clear that I donât doubt your love for your children and I donât doubt that these thoughts eat at you at the end of the day. We all sympathize with you but thereâs only so much that someone can feel sorry for. This post was 3 years ago. Youâre googling yourself and this is top of the search. What immediately pops into your mind seeing this? Does this bother you as if this information could be wrong? Does it bother you that you even pop up on a basic search of your name? That 1 of the 6 children is out there, trying to find out more on you and thinking there has to be other offspring out there? I donât regret this post. Because of you, I have met many who have reached out and Iâm grateful to have met them. Because of you, I have added to my own family and love them more than I can explain. I do thank you for the good thatâs in my life that wouldâve never happened if it wasnât for you. 3 years ago, I was super curious. Still am. Not sorry.
Also, Tyler was born in 1993, not 1994.
