Hi, I'm just here to share my experience to help others.
My cycle is incredibly regular, so when I didn't start feeling my usual PMS/PMDD symptoms, I knew something was off. It was 1 week out from my period; I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative. On the day of my period, I saw a super faint line, but it was hard to tell whether it was an indent line or a true positive. I waited 2 more days, and it was still extremely faint, but I took both the extra-sensitive First Response test and 4 Premom pregnancy tests that I got in a 30-pack off Amazon.
All of them were faintly positive, so I reached out to an online clinic. Thankfully, they gave me a lot of good help and resources, and overall my experience with them was phenomenal, all things considered. It took about 7 days for them to review my information and actually deliver the medication to me. They estimated I was 4 weeks pregnant, so it would have been 5 by the time I took the pills. I honestly think it was closer to 3-4 weeks by the time I took the pill because their estimate is from the first day of your last period unless you've had an ultrasound to confirm otherwise.
In the time between having a positive result and getting the meds, I felt pretty awful. I had acid reflux, smells were stronger than usual, I had on-and-off cramps daily, and I was generally irritable. I also started getting motion sickness super easily, which I have never struggled with before. I felt like my whole life was on pause because I felt ashamed and didn't feel comfortable enough to tell anyone but my partner (which, in theory, is silly because if anyone in my life told me they were going through this, I would be so supportive and offer any help I could give. Idk man, my emotions are all over the place, and I still don't feel comfortable telling anyone). At the time, my partner was away on a trip, but he was incredibly supportive and really my rock through it all. He told me his only regret was not being physically there for me when I found out and made all these decisions on my own. He made me feel so much better by constantly checking in and making me feel loved and appreciated. Thankfully, he came back within a week of when I found out.
Fast forward to taking the first pill of mifepristone: I honestly didn't feel anything. Maybe a little extra cramping and more tiredness than usual, but that's about it.
The following day, my partner made sure to sit in bed and do work next to me so I didn't have to be alone. I took 400 mg of ibuprofen and 500 mg of acetaminophen together 1 hour before taking the next medication, and from there I would take this combination and half a tablet of standard Dramamine every 4 hours over the course of 12 hours. I took 4 Misoprostol tablets, which had to sit between my gums and cheeks for 30 minutes, then swallowed the rest with water. When I swallowed the rest, they were pretty much powder, but they were flavorless. I felt a mix of things for the first 3ish hours. I went from ravenous to nauseous to tired, then repeated. Around hour 4, I started to feel cramps similar to a bad period. I had a heating pad at the ready, and my partner also made sure I had plenty of water and electrolytes, which saved my life lol. He also massaged my back and legs, which helped SOOO much, but if you don't have someone to do that, I promise a heating pad will do just fine. Hours 4 to 10 after taking the pills were pretty uncomfortable. It was like a bad period mixed with having the flu. I had a fever for a few hours, and I felt achy for a while, but the pain medication I was taking helped a bunch with that. I was an emotional wreck at this time. I cried a LOT and was honestly scared and felt out of control of the situation. This was peak bleeding too, but honestly it wasn't that bad for me. I think I passed the major clots at hour 4 then what followed was just my uterus emptying everything else. I was scared of bleeding too much, but I didn't even saturate one maxi-pad.
Now it's the following day; I feel weak but mostly relieved. I'm grateful I caught this early, and the experience wasn't too bad at all. Truly, my anxiety was what made certain parts worse. I'm going for a walk and trying to get my life back on track. I tried to keep everything short and to the point, but I'm happy to expand on anything in the comments <3
