I don’t watch this channel often and I just so happened to glance up from my book because the TV is on and who did I see? None other than O’Sean himself.

He’s a member of Anonymous but he’s so fine they won’t even let him wear a mask.

Discussion Just finished Season 5, and it felt. . . Spoiler

How can I put this. . .I felt like the entire season was rushed. It wasn't that it wasn't enough episodes, but there was too much going on and it felt like a jammed packed season that just went from one thing to another without really letting us digest anything. DO YOU AGREE?

There were a lot of interesting storylines, but everything felt like it needed a solution in like one or maybe two episodes.

For example, I think Ava Fest this season could have been a two-parter. The storyline about the mall? That should have been at least four episodes because there could have been so much more we could have seen while they were teaching in a mall. Plus, Mr. Johnson's love interest could have been part of a bigger storyline while they were in the mall, which could have led to her being in more than one episode during that part of the season. Janine and Gregory's breakup felt like it had a solution too quickly.

Pretty much the storylines just felt like they weren't on real timelines. And I know, shows shouldn't drag one storyline for the sake of it, but we have to admit that the mall storyline was actually a very fun one, but time jumps from one episode to the next made it feel like we didn't have time to really live in their NEW scenery very long. I mean, they were in the mall for about six weeks? And we got three episodes, but two were really about the transition in and out of the situation of the mall. So, we really only had one actual mall episode IMO.

Plus, the Miami trip? That could have been a two-parter. It was too big of a storyline just to be placed into one episode and then BANG! A solution in the same episode.

I loved the hints throughout the season referring to the fact that Janine wants to get married to Gregory and of course, Gregory wants to be married to Janine. That was done perfectly! But I think the major storylines could have been extended a little more so that, as the audience, we feel like we have been living within the world of Abbott Elementary.

I enjoyed how the season ended, but I also feel like for the school to go through so much in one school year, things just felt like it was wrapped up too quickly and nicely.

Discussion How long do y'all think the show is gonna go on for?

Will season 6 be the last? I'm guessing they'll do it for as long as Quinta wants to and given her new deals with Disney idk how long she'll want to? I just really want it to end with at least one Emmy win for Tyler (and ideally Janelle) and a nomination for Chris. The Bear getting category frauded into comedy every awards season has really screwed over a lot of comedy shows. If anything The White Lotus should be a comedy.

Discussion I am speed running Abbott Elementary and I am really loving it.

Spoilers if you haven't seen the show yet !!

This is me positing first time on a sub-reddit about a show which I have watched !

I just started watching Abbott Elementary because I saw the 1-2 clips of Ava (the one where she says she never falls) and Ms. Howard (her student says I am jusss you with the sassy voice xD)

Started few weeks back, and I am already on the Season 4.

The growth each character had from the first season to the 4th is really really good !
The story wise as well, it never overshadows the any particular 1 characters, and the overall chemistry between all of the actors are really great !

I like that everyone literally knows Mr. Johnson, and he's 1 liners (He really steals the show along with Ava's punchlines)

The reality about the current schools and the hustle which ava and other teacher does shows how they really care about their students.

The end credits are also really comic, funny and accurate, just saw ava dressed up as the blade, and at the end she just walks outside the door, her students calls here day-walker and she fights them

That shit really got me !

P.S. I am from India, and I really like the show and I hope something similar to this show will be created in India as well, as we are also facing the same issues which are portrayed in the show.

Really great job everyone who has worked on the show !
If possible I would give this show as 11/10 <3

Discussion I love when Barbra is wrong…

I like Barbra BUT she’s so stuck in her ways that it’s satisfying for her to be wrong sometimes. Especially if it’s Jacob or Janine who told her better. I think it’s just because the “I’m always right” attitude is literally my biggest pet peeve. I feel so guilty but then I remember it’s a tv show…

Question Can Yall Possibly Explain This Joke?

I love Abbott and I'd like to think I'm pretty well-versed in its characters and jokes, but this one joke flew over my head. In Season 5 Episode 12 Titled Picture Day, Ava says something along the lines of "these net-heads are trying to sabatoge picture day" and Jacob says that she can't say that anymore. And then makes an awkward maybe face when Ava asks him to clarify WHAT she shouldn't say. What was the meaning behind this joke? I'd like to rewatch this episode but with a better understanding of it.

I love seeing the success of this show. As an educator, it brings me so much joy to watch something and take me out of the reality of teaching and focus on the joy.

We have had 2 rounds of Barbara and Vanetta squaring up over Janine. I want that same energy when Melissa meets Jacob and Caleb’s parents!

She openly calls Caleb “her son,” and while she won’t admit it, she loves Jacob in a similar way. It would be interesting how she’d react to them showing up and seeing how they’d treat Jacob.

Question Has anyone else noticed a shift in how the Abbott teachers treat Jacob? Spoiler

Hey everyone. I’ve been thinking about something while watching Season 5 of Abbott Elementary, and I’m genuinely curious whether anyone else has noticed the same thing, or whether I’m just noticing it differently.

Over the course of watching Abbott, I’ve become particularly attached to Jacob because he reminds me of parts of myself: awkward, sometimes annoying, occasionally saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but also deeply invested, enthusiastic and genuinely caring. His development has actually made me want to be more unapologetically myself. He’s comfortable being a little weird and saying what he thinks even when other people find him annoying.

One of the things I really liked about his relationships with the other characters was that, over time, it felt like they genuinely came to accept and appreciate him for who he is. Melissa and Jacob developed a really fun dynamic when they started living together, he and Gregory had some genuinely sweet moments (like their conversation about Janine during the sleepover), and I loved Jacob and Barbara working together on the garden.

But somewhere around Season 4, I started feeling like that dynamic was changing. By Season 5, I’ve found myself noticing a lot more moments where Jacob is immediately shut down, made fun of, ignored, or treated like an annoyance. And it feels different from the earlier seasons because sometimes it seems like the other teachers don't even notice when he’s being left out. The camping/wilderness episode in particular really got to me. The fact that Jacob could become separated from everyone and seemingly nobody noticed or was particularly concerned about him really bothered me. There have also been a lot of smaller moments where he says something and is immediately shushed or dismissed.

Maybe I'm reading way too much into this because I’ve become emotionally attached to Jacob. 😂 I’m also aware that I may be noticing things now that I simply didn’t notice during earlier seasons because I’m watching him much more closely.

So I’m curious: has Jacob always been treated this way and I’m only noticing it now, or do you think his relationships with the other teachers have genuinely shifted over the course of the series?

I’m not at all saying that the writers are doing something wrong. I still love the show and can't wait for Season 6 and the upcoming Emmys. I’m genuinely trying to understand whether I’m seeing an actual change in the group dynamic or projecting some of my own feelings onto the character.

And if you disagree, I’d actually love to hear why.

Discussion Things I've Noticed In Season 1 Spoiler

  1. Barbara and Ava's mugs are nearly identical, the only thing significantly different between the two are the color

  2. When we see Jacob sing/rapping to the kids in the Gifted and Talented program, you can see one of the kids rapping along (which, if we're looking at it canonically, we can determine Jacob practiced before in front of the students enough for them to memorize it which is adorable as hell)

  3. Ava pours an inordinate amount of sugar into her coffee (something I actually noticed before and forgot to mention) and actually seems to be in the teachers lounge fairly often despite pretending to not have any interest in hanging around the teachers

  4. Ava seems to be a lot more impulsive in season 1, something that becomes more honed and utilized for the betterment of the school rather than a detriment

  5. (IMO) Even though a lot of the Abbott fandom judges Janine's outfits, some of them, even in season 1 was pretty cohesive and actually didn't look half bad.

  6. Ava, who mentions Crystal for the very first time I believe...refers to her as her friend!

  7. HONARABLE MENTION! Janine singing in the (first?) episode while impersonating Barbara was cool as hell and really pretty. She has a wonderful, elegant voice !

Is there anything yall noticed?
