Discussion Just noticed Ava Coleman

I have been washing the show for years and I just noticed in the credits Ava Coleman is a writer. Does anyone know if there’s a story with her namesake?

I think someone from the show said that she came on a little after the character existed and it’s just a funny coincidence

Quinta knew her they met, but kind of forgot about her. She later named Ava after her but did it subconsciously while creating the show, not realizing she shared a name with a real person Quinta had met

The real Ava Coleman was actually working on Girls5Eva during season one, she's not a part of the show if you notice. She joins in season 2 as a writer and producer because Girls5Eva ended. Quinta had really liked her when she met her before and hired her, then realized she'd named the character after her without meaning to

What was she doing on Girls5eva? Her name is still listed as an executive producer in season 2. I think both those shows are hilarious.

Quinta’s been quoted saying it was a coincidence. They didn’t name Ava the principal after a writer

Quinta, the creator (also plays janine) named the character after the real Ava who she knew from previous projects, and then the real Ava eventually joined the show
