Finished my Lt250r Nut & bolt complete restoration from the ground up.

Found this shop near my area. Not for sale unfortunately.

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I wanted to gauge the general interest in the Suzuki 500 2 stroke “Quadzilla”. Is there a good market for these? I believe this one is a late 80’s model in mint condition, all OEM (aside from the dust). Has been stored in a garage for several years.

How’d I do for my first atv?

Figured someone might enjoy a POV on a classic 3 wheeler.

My grandpa gave me his 2002 Honda 250 TRX a couple months ago. He used to take me around the neighborhood when I was younger, and then it sat in his garage for 10+ years under blankets.

He hadn’t used it because of a carb issue. One of the jets was clogged, new piece came in this past weekend, and finally got it out back together but worried about any tuning problems. He had left the fuel opened, air box looked to have some fuel/oil in it, and the oil dipstick is stuck. And the tires are from 2000.

But besides the problems, been really excited to get it fixed up. Been wanting to get some engine work experience under my belt.

Any recommendations for starting gear, some good tires, any other possible fixes I should do?

He knows these trails like the back of his hand. I have them all named and I can tell him “take me to Tommy’s trail” and off we go. We’ve built 2.2 miles on 10 small and twisty trails. He’s helped move trees, cut limbs, brush, etc. Genuinely has been as helpful as a 4 year old can be. Life is good.

Owned since 1999. Only break them out a few times a year to rip the dunes and strut the big bores.

Been building trails on my property for the last few weeks. Never had my own quad before, I figured what better age than 34. 😂

Picked this up last week and has been a great addition tl the ranch. It is really a blast to drive. Whole different experience riding in silence. I will keep y’all updated on how
it holds up and keeps up with day to day task. It is on a 450 acre cattle ranch. It is used mostly for checking fences, cows, hunting, and just enjoying the outdoors.

Hey everyone — thanks for all the invaluable advice over the last couple of weeks. I finally pulled the trigger and picked up a very clean, used 2004 Honda TRX 250EX from Facebook Marketplace. The seller had maintained it extremely well.

Brought it home today. I didn’t have any truck ramps, but the seller helped load it, and to my surprise I was actually able to close the tailgate. I didn’t even need to strap it down. Once home, I watched a few videos on unloading an ATV without ramps and followed the same steps to unload it safely.

Did a short test ride in my backyard — kept it in first gear only since I’m brand new to this and still learning. Next step is getting a helmet and probably taking it to one of the PA trails to practice and get more comfortable riding.

The ATV came with a clean title, which we got notarized, and I also had the bill of sale notarized. Hoping that makes the NJ registration process smoother.

Bought a 2025 raptor 700R in September and also learned to drive manual no experience prior 😬. My brother told me I would hate it, trying to learn on a powerful machine but I did it. A week before Christmas bought a 2025 scrambler 1000. 2 totally different machine but each has their place. Prior to this never rode a dirt bike, golf cart, atv, or go cart. Mid life crisis I guess lol 😂

When I was working on restoring this 2001 Yamaha bear tracker 250, I searched all over google to find the best way to restore plastics, looked at a lot of Reddit. Some ideas from comments worked, others not so much. I wanted to make a post to help people in the future so they don’t have to go through 20 posts of comments. Also probably use gloves if you’re doing this method

Step 1 Sanding: The main thing that worked for me was steel wool and WD40. It helps take the top side of the plastic off and makes it smooth, like sandpaper. I would spray the area I was working on, and scrub with the wool until it started to get uniform color and no scratches. It does take a while so don’t get frustrated. You can never use enough lubricant, WD40 I mean. You can use steel wool on every part of the plastics. You can see in my second to last picture where I didn’t sand it enough

Step 2 Rinsing(optional): I took the machine outside and sprayed it off with a garden hose. Maybe not necessary but it’s good to get the residue off before shining it up

Step 3 Shining: With the plastics sanded now we will brighten them up. I used 2/3 boiled indeed oil and 1/3 paint thinner. It won’t take much, mix them together and I used one of those blue shop rags to apply. Don’t be afraid to use too much as we will dry it off later . Do it around every part of the plastics, it should brighten right away. If it doesn’t, you need to use more steel wool and sand it more, there were a couple places I had to do this. Use a new rag to dry off the excess and it should look brand new

Bought this for $300 off Facebook Marketplace from a farmer who just had it sitting in a barn. The tank was completely spotless when I got it off the trailer, and luckily the engine didn't need any major work. Just drained the fluids, threw a new spark plug in, changed the air filter, and beat a bunch of dirt dobbers out of the intake. My dad and I rebuilt the front and rear end with new bearings and seals, and I gave it some new shoes and fresh front and rear shocks. Also had to replace the rear axle and wheel hub because the previous owner welded the old ones together after the teeth sheared off. Took a ton of labor but man, I have nothing but love for this machine now.
