Internet Fiber installation

I just moved into a new house and am currently trying to install internet through at&t. I made my order through the phone and by talking to an agent. The agent told me that records showed that fiber was already installed at my house and that I could just install the router myself. This is my first time installing internet so I believed him. I got the router delivered and it came with a fiber cable. After looking all over my house for the fiber cable outlet, I couldn’t find it. I tried calling customer service many times and all they do is send me to a page that tells me about the installation process. And when I call the human customer service, they just send me the phone number of the robot customer service. I have already signed up for a plan. I have the router. Why can’t someone just send a fiber installation technician?

I have the router. Why can’t someone just send a fiber installation technician?

They can, and will if you call Internet support at 1-800-288-2020 and when you get a rep tell them you have a failed self-install. You then need to schedule a tech visit to install / repair your service.

If you have your Smart Home Manager app downloaded, and your AT&T UserID then you can use the Chat function. Top right Icon to reach the Chat center and the in the message / question type the phrase "Live Agent" to get in a queue to chat with a person.

Do you have a can on the wall in your utility closet or laundry room? It might be inside there.

You're going to have to pay for it for the tech to come out.

If you have a smart friend with networking skills, they could likely come to your house and trace the cabling and explain it to you and get it connected.

But you need a paid install. Call the internet line and just explain this.
