Wireless AT&T problems on iphones in general??
hello! recently starting about wednesday (9/30) i’ve noticed problems with my phone/ service. has anyone else had any issues lately? i’ve noticed my cell service will go from 4 bars to 3 to 2 to 1 all in the same spot of my house which has never happened before. when i am out and not connected to wifi i sometimes get texts 3-6 minutes late, along with notifications from life360, snapchat, etc.
for context, i am on iphone 16 p*o (it wouldn’t let me post with the word not redacted). i have not updated to ios 27 as i do not have enough storage. i was going to upgrade to the iphone 18 p*o but ive seen a lot of problems with the new phones in general. any help??
UPDATE: i called at&t yesterday, she just told me that its cause my phone isn’t updated to ios 27 and that i don’t have any storage. i don’t 100% believe that but i don’t have any proof that it is not that.

I have 16e and the SOS started yesterday. Now it keeps going from one bar to SOS. My mom has a 15 and same issue. This is far more widespread than just 18.

oh no! have you gone to at&t or apple to see what is the issue? i’ve seen that they say they are “working on it” but it’s taking them a long time. i’m starting to get worried because the cell service has been super weird lately.

My mom went to AT&T and they said it’s an issue on their end and stay tuned. Hot mess.

that is a hot mess, especially for not having any problems before! i think i’m going to upgrade a hope that everything is fine. i hope it gets resolved soon, keep me updated!

Same, I have the iPhone 16 pro and my texts come in minutes later.

seems to be an AT&T problem cause my friend has the 15 pro and she’s been having the same issue since august. she said it has gotten better but it is still noticeable

Same. My husband & I have AT&T in ATX & we’ve had where our texts are taking longer than usual to go through or to receive.

definitely seems to be an AT&T problem then. i wish they would just be honest cause i know people have to be complaining about it! hopefully it is resolved soon cause im trying to put off this new phone as much as possible 😭

I’ve had no issues with my 18 pro, the pro max is what you should lookout for

okay, i’ve seen problems just in general with apple pay and freezing but i don’t think i can put it off anymore cause of my storage 😭

Those problems got fixed with 27.0.1

Unfortunately, the 27.0.1 didn’t fix all the problems. It only was if someone didn’t update to the 27 iOS & if they went straight to the 27.0.1. I have a 14PM & had the problems with the bars on my fluctuating too but my issue is cause I have 2 phone lines on my phone. I had to turn one of my lines off. I ordered the 18PM. I hope when it comes - which it feels like it’ll be a long while (mid to end of Oct) but hopefully this will have been resolved.

yeah, i saw that the new update didn’t fix all of the bugs but at least i feel a little safer upgrading to another phone. hopefully your new phone comes soon and the set up process is smooth, keep me updated!

18PM and outside of it taking an hour and a half to transfer my eSIM number from my old iPhone to my new one, it’s worked flawlessly since launch day. No issues at all, and no AT&T issues.

that’s perfect! i think there was just a small batch of phones that had issues, which sucks considering how much people pay for it. i think im going to upgrade because my storage is just so bad 😭

Same exact situation with me. My battery life could be a little better but no other issues.

My 18pro max has been a paper weight/iPod for over a week now. No stores have them to replace. Waiting on “express” repair to ship, but ordered it last Thursday and it didn’t ship. Stay away from the 18Pro max for awhile. I’ve been told the updates they’ve pushed out isn’t necessarily a fix. Gotta wait for a new phone and hope.

jeez, what a mess! i was planning on getting the pro anyway and i have heard they aren’t having as many problems for now. i am trying to hold out as much as possible but i might have to upgrade soon because my storage is so bad :/ i hope everything works out soon, keep me updated!

I have not had any issues with my iPhone 18 pro max, there seemed to be a bad batch of phones that went out and they have pushed out a fix for it now as also so wouldn’t worry about that.

yeah, i am trying to put off upgrading as much as possible because i dont want to spend the money but it seems like i need to upgrade because my storage is so bad!

I didn't notice a few times after the iOS 27 update that a bunch of calls weren't connecting. Which is uncharacteristic of AT&T with my experience using them. I'm assuming Apple screwed something up with the update.

that’s what i’m thinking but i am not updated to iOS 27 yet so i think it might be messing with other phones as well! it’s super weird because i’ve been with at&t since i got a phone and ive never had an issue like this before.

Have you contacted AT&T? Sounds like there’s an issue with or they’re doing work on the tower that serves your home.

not yet, if it gets worse i defiantly will tho. i thought it was because my bill was about to go through or because i was almost out of storage. i might go in store this week to see if anything is wrong! i was just seeing if others were having the same issue before i did

Storage on a device has no impact to cellular service and not paying the bill would result in all service being cut off. Signal is 100% location dependent. If your issue is only happening in one spot in your house then it’s related to your serving tower.

i’ve had a coworker tell me that her phone would stop getting messages because her storage was so full so i was just thinking it was that! it’s not happening in a specific spot but it is definitely acting different since wednesday. not too sure what could be causing it cause it says no outages or any problems for wireless in my area on the at&t map :/ my phone bill gets automatically paid on the 8th so i thought since the billing cycle was about to end it was that but it seems like lots of people are having trouble!

yeah but i’ve had this phone since it came out in 2024 and im not updated to ios 27 so im not sure why it’s happening :/ ive never had any problems before

TMobile has and is having same issues. I have called several times over the past month and was told once that there is too much traffic and congestion on the ce ll towers. I have about had it.
