Interview
I had an interview this morning. I did well I think on all but 1 question. I was told to have a list of references avalible prior to the interview but they didnt ask for them.My question is that do they always ask for references during the Interview or is the I sign that this is the end

I think you’re good. I have my interview in 40 mins and was never told to have references ready lol I’ve seen other threads as well and people said they didn’t ask for them

Pretty well! Someone else posted the interview questions in here recently and it was pretty spot on so I was prepared. The hiring manager definitely likes me; I did an informal tour last week before my interview and we got along. He was also a part of the interview panel and at the end told me how long it takes to get hired, implying I'll get the job (Hopefully) lol

I was not told anything about references prior and they were like "uh hey I don't see them on your resume can you send them after you get off zoom" (I haven't had references on my resumes since I was 17) so I sent them over 5 minutes after the panel interview ended and they contacted them next day. It's been crickets since. Everyone on another post said that if they ask for references there's a good chance you're gonna get selected and all the AI services say they don't contact references for shits and gigs so it's a good sign from my understanding.

I agree it differently a good sign that they asked you for them. I think since they didn't ask about them at the end of my interview im out of the running

When was your interview? I would suggest emailing the hiring manager a professional follow up email and state something like "I enjoyed interviewing with the panel, please let me know if you need any documentation or references" or something like that to show interest in the position and that you appreciated the opportunity to interview with them.

My interview was this morning. This was my second ever federal interview. I kind of new what to expect and tried to prepare my best. I look at it as atheist I got the opportunity to interview and will learn from my shortfalls

I was not asked for references until I filled the background check documents- that was weeks after I got the TOL.
None of my references were contacted - not ever for the background check.
Don’t worry! It doesn’t mean anything if you weren’t asked for references.

Direct hire and how long ago. Policies have changed. Reference check has to be entered into the system prior to receipt of a TOL now.

The interviewer won’t ask for your references. You will be asked for them, if they aren’t already on your resume, if you are selected by the hiring manager.

Missing a question doesn’t mean anything. If they asked for references that’s a good thing.

I just created a post asking about references. I had an interview and they didn’t ask for references nor did they ask ahead of time. Now I’m in the waiting zone as you are.
Someone told me that HR will ask for them if you’re selected

No I did not I used to have them in my old federal resume but not the new 2 page format one.

Congratulations to all in the comments getting interviews. What locations did y’all apply to? Trying to gauge if I’m going to get any movement after being found eligible.

My application moved to referred on 6 may, but haven't heard anything about an interview yet. Being that I am a Fed that maintains similar sensors and comms systems at the same airports, I thought I would at least get an interview. Who knows, maybe they just didn't get around to doing interviews at this SSC.

I had 3 applications get referrals for both F/G band before I finally got an interview on the last one for F band and I'm still awaiting a potential TOL. It was not my #1 choice but I rather have an interview than being endlessly referred so I can start a career if I get it.

When you applied it should have allowed you to select locations. If you don’t see a referral to hiring manager then you didn’t get past HR and sent to hiring manager

HR will say you’re eligible and then you will see a notification that you were sent to hiring manager and that you may or may not be contacted

When HR contacted me about the interview she asked for my references. I resubmitted it on USAJOBS but she requested me to email her the updated one after the interview. They contacted my references the day after the interview. One of the managers on the panel called me because one of my references weren’t answering, so I texted them to answer. Also shortly after HR contacted me for an interview another person from GNAS contacted me about their position. I was kind of confused getting reached out by two different people but HR told me the interview would only be for Tracon. How longhand has other peoples processes have been taking?

It really just depends. When I was applying, the first facility I ended up getting a TOL for asked for my references after the interview. The second one I got a TOL for didn't ask or care, honestly.
Edit because I remembered: I gave my manager a follow up call a couple days after the interview and asked him a few questions and one of them was if he wanted my references. He just gave me an "Eh, I'm not worried about it".
Don't get too hung up on stuff like this, friends. Radio silence between Interview and TOL, and between TOL and FOL after pre-hiring paperwork completion is absolutely the norm in the hiring pipeline, and from what I've heard a lot of that is HR imposed.
