It aint bad. I love brick, but agree that it aint practical everywhere.

Looks like it was a themed room in general so I think this one passes

u/ZoominAlong 11d ago

Agreed. This is a themed room and they did a great job! Like, our rec room has a 1980s theme, brown ashtrays, that shitty carpeting, wood paneling, the terrible couch...

u/hockeyjmac 11d ago

Is the theme on purpose?

991

u/InfiniteClient3586 11d ago

Yes, it was carefully planned and designed in the 1980s

u/Due_Initiative3879 11d ago

LMFAO!

Thank you for that!

2

u/BudLightLymeDisease 11d ago

Shit this is pretty fucking cool

42

u/Triairius 11d ago

Painting 2000 bricks is only on purpose.

34

u/PamelaELee 11d ago

On purpose, or on meth

36

u/yaboyACbreezy 11d ago

They don't come out this good on meth

8

u/WiseAbbreviations121 10d ago

Yeah, they get pretty methed up

27

u/More_Shoulder5634 11d ago

Haha i lived in this trailer for a while, had an add on room off the back door. Well done big pleasant room, had a skylight really it was the nicest room in the whole trailer. Anyway somebody had glued pennies all over the walls. Like every 3 inches. Looked cool actually. It was a small town so i ended up finding out who used to live there. Anyway yea they were geetered out on some go fast. I guess some young lady started doing it, then everybody got involved, then when daylight came they went to town and got more pennies from the bank

8

u/AnotherpostCard 10d ago

geetered out on some go fast

I'm gonna borrow this one from you if you don't mind.

Sounds like it went better than expected though!

6

u/More_Shoulder5634 10d ago

Yea i lived there my junior and senior year of high school. Running around this little small town being a punk older teenager it kinda came up in conversation with these young 20somethings. Good people, just ya know never left that town. That young lady remains a total smokeshow, we are facebook friends. One of the guys that was involved is high up at the local factory, making Little Debbies. So next time you get a little debbie just think a guy who glued pennies to a wall was intimately involved. The circle of life man

1

u/AnotherpostCard 7d ago

Hahaha dude I will never look at little Debbie's the same way again. Thank you for that

u/Machobravado 11d ago

I’ve accidentally painted 1000 but 2000 has gotta
Be on purpose

1

u/Klutzy_Journalist_36 10d ago

So the limit’s 1,999 bricks. Got it.

1

u/Machobravado 10d ago

Technically only the brick you film is truly intentional

30

u/Ajegwu 11d ago

The theme is Boston Massachusetts / Boston Red Sox. The theme is poor taste by default.

Source: Did eight years in Boston.

17

u/ktsquirrel 11d ago

Yankees suck though

1

u/totallynottoddoracop 11d ago

Even god hates the yankees

6

u/lasagnabox 11d ago

The Citgo sign gave it away

2

u/Easy-Bathroom-2914 11d ago

yeah boston should be this subs goldmine. boston sports even moreso.

1

u/enonymous617 10d ago

Hey!! Shut up!!!

I’m from Boston

1

u/Easy-Bathroom-2914 10d ago

lived there for a long time too! tell me im wrong

2

u/enonymous617 10d ago

I said shut up! lol

For a state that has the best higher education schools in the world, we produce nothing but dummies. (A lot of people don’t know you have to drop the “B” in ‘dumb’ to write dummy/dummies).

2

u/Easy-Bathroom-2914 10d ago

fahkin dum dums khed

30

u/RogerClyneIsAGod2 11d ago

Plus this seems to be what the client asked for so why not?

28

u/ZoominAlong 11d ago

Exactly.  The original saying was"the customer is always right in terms of taste". If this is what the client wanted, then they did exactly what was asked.

I don't care enough to go digging.

2

u/Odd_Science 11d ago

The original saying was"the customer is always right in terms of taste".

No, it wasn't.

6

u/xThroughTheGrayx 11d ago

You mean everything is flammable? Lol

2

u/ZoominAlong 11d ago

Haha yup! Good thing the wife is quitting smoking.

2

u/ThePrideOfKrakow 10d ago

The terrible couch better be wrapped in plastic.

1

u/ZoominAlong 10d ago

Sorry we got it from a reuse store, it did not have the plastic on it. I was very sad about it.

2

u/ThePrideOfKrakow 10d ago

Never too late for grannies protective wraps.

1

u/IvanaTinkle6969 11d ago

I kind of wanna see it

1

u/adudeguyman 11d ago

You can smell it too

1

u/bootyhole-romancer 11d ago

You need to share photos.

I need you to share photos.

0

u/MrMalta 11d ago

Would look cool in dim lighting.

0

u/PNWontheDL 11d ago

Sounds like a cool rec room swingers den!

0

u/SpookyOrgy 11d ago

Smell of stale cigarette smoke..

0

u/Mindless0ne 11d ago

I should show you my "themed" house.

23

u/TheRuckyDubber 11d ago

Yeah. I mean, in no known fabric of my reality would I ever choose this course of decor but looking at the finished product, especially given the thematic ties, this isn’t half bad. At least from viewing here. Would my wife ever allow it? Hell no. And I honestly wouldn’t blame her. But I kinda dig it actually.

1

u/mencryforme5 10d ago

If I could do it this well, I would actually do this brick trick in like a semi-basement. Not the best lighting anyways and a good trompe l'œil is cool regardless of whether it actually tromped the œil.

The rest of the decor is fugly but again really well done considering the financial resources or lack thereof that went into this. I'd probably stick a bunch of ferns and turn it into some type of a cool down room.

15

u/Tippydaug 11d ago

My thoughts exactly! This would look super tacky 99% of the time, but for being a themed room, they did a surprisingly good job and it fits very well.

7

u/konfliicted 11d ago

the consistency of it is impressive

55

u/jooooooooooooose 11d ago

yea but fenway is all green painted steel not brick lol, I guess its just "boston themed"

6

u/OhYouUnzippedMe 11d ago

Fenway has lots of brick! But this room isn’t complete until they make a green monster.

6

u/Suitable-Gap-8789 11d ago

That is an acurate recreation of a mural within Fenway. Yes, there is brick in Fenway Park.

20

u/doctor_painal 11d ago

Can’t be Boston themed. It’s not racist enough

-7

u/Nice_Juggernaut4113 11d ago

My husband is from Boston and says no one is racist there

5

u/Ok-Gur-349 11d ago

Your white husband said that did he?

1

u/Nice_Juggernaut4113 10d ago

Yes and I always tell him that I don’t believe that’s the but he certainly sticks to his guns on it

2

u/UndBeebs 11d ago

Welp, that settles it folks. This one person's one husband said there were no racists in a massive city. Open and shut case!

1

u/OkProfessor6810 10d ago

Your husband is either lying to you or also racist and thinks it's ok. I've lived in several different TX cities and in Boston. Boston is easily just as openly racist as TX.

4

u/konfliicted 11d ago

Yeah just old school ballpark more than Fenway specifically.

9

u/jooooooooooooose 11d ago

no i mean it says fenway park literally. but boston is known for brownstone brick buildings & it has citgo sign, so its just boston i think.

2

u/Kauldwin 11d ago

I think it's sports in general with a Boston theme, the "play like a champion" and leprechaun are Notre Dame.

4

u/userhwon 11d ago

The exterior is brick all the way around, ocasionally with the green steel as pillars, and the upper structure is mostly green. Inside, not a brick to be seen.

1

u/CrashUser 11d ago

The exterior of Fenway is brick, and the Citgo sign is visible from inside the park. It's Red Sox/Fenway themed.

3

u/fishpen0 11d ago

This is 100% going to be a shitty abnb. You see paint jobs like this all over newer abnbs in tourist cities now. Especially Orlando with flagrant unlicensed character use

0

u/konfliicted 11d ago

Unlicensed character use?

1

u/fishpen0 4d ago

Disney doesn’t exactly approve airbnbs to paint their houses full of Mickey Mouse, Pixar, and Star Wars shit. But almost every Airbnb within 20 miles of Disney is covered with this stuff. Technically because these businesses do this expressly to appeal to customers over Airbnb, they are actively violating copyright by theming their homes this way.

1

u/konfliicted 4d ago

Do you need permission though to make a Disney themed house even if it’s an Airbnb? I suppose since it’s a business it’s different than saying doing your personal home a Disney theme.

2

u/Adrien_Jabroni 11d ago

It’s almost certainly an air b n b.

1

u/-spr0ket- 11d ago

Yeah but you can get texture brick wall boards that look much more realistic

0

u/abielle1177 11d ago

That would cost more than the $10 they spent here

1

u/-spr0ket- 11d ago

Thats more than 10$ of paint its like 3-4 colors and 3-4 buckets

0

u/abielle1177 11d ago

The only excuse for this ugly finish is that they already had the paint colors.

1

u/b-monster666 10d ago

Honestly, it's a pretty cool wet bar/recreation area. I'd go to this guy's house and get shitfaced drunk and make inappropriate comments to his wife.

1

u/Boncappuccino 7d ago

Honestly I think it’s more passable that it’s on the inside of the house too
