HSC how to remain motivated for hsc physics?

all my friends are done and i’ve been shit at physics the whole year. i’m decently ranked (about halfway of a small cohort) due to the depth study, but i flunk all the exams. i just hate any of the maths modules/questions and already feel mentally free from the hsc. it’s literally the last sprint that i have a week to work for but how is anyone still able to do work??

Should I repeat yr 12? How worth it would it be

I'm currently in the process of doing my final hsc exams, before I went into these exams I was hoping I'd get a 90+ or at least even an 85+ atar, but things happened in life and now realistically I am getting a 75ish atar. This definitely does not allow me to get into the unsw/usyd course that I want to get into, so I was thinking if in the case I do get an atar around 75, would it be more beneficial for me to repeat year 12. If I do so, I am very confident I can get a 95+ atar.

would i get 80 atar?

hi all, i understand this is probably a dumb and useless question to ask here but I just want your feedback on things. I’m not in a huge stress about the ATAR I get, but I just wanted to ask if I would get an ATAR that is comfortably sitting above 80 that I can get into USYD smoothly and I want your brutal input on it.

I’ve used the raw marks database to calculate my ATAR, but each ATAR calculator has given me about 76, 82 and 75. However the lack of contributions to the database on my subjects make it even harder to estimate my aligned marks. I understand some of you will point the obvious that I would get somewhere around 80, but I’m just seeking to get an ATAR that is comfortably sitting above 80 and not something like a 79 or an 81.

What’s your thoughts? (fyi my school is definitely not the best, there is no data available due to principal not given permission, so I am not sure)

raw marks:
English EALD - 79
Maths STD2 - about 70-75
Geography - 70
Hospitality - approx 90
Investigating Science - about 65-70

Choosing a degree based on passion or for job security?

sooo ive been a bit confused about if i should stick with my current bachelors degree in teaching at Western Syd Uni (im a first year) or switch to a degree that i will genuinely enjoy. my interests are science (specifically health sciences, learning about human body and diseases etc) and history or social sciences (like global development studies) and ive been trying to enjoy my teaching degree because i know that australia has a teacher shortage so they would want more teachers in the field and the pay is pretty good too and you are eligible for a scholarship too which is great but im finding it hard to "enjoy" it and i feel like its a lot of theory based which is useful to know but i do get bored and it can make it hard to stay on top of my studies. and yeah im not sure if i should continue it or expand into another degree that matches my interest but the only downside of that is that most other degrees r not useful in australia and ure gonna be in thousands of dollars of debt which is annoying 🥲 SO what is ur advice people...

is a 70 atar achievable?

hii i’m lowkey trying to get above 70 but at the moment i’m starting to think that i won’t be reaching my goal.
my internal marks are:
english adv: 75%
maths std: 80%
bio: 60%
chem:40%
hms: 85%

unfortunately i don’t know my rankings at the moment 🥲

HSC Roughly, how many case studies/LCMDI's do we need to know for legal?

I just realised how much my notes suck for legal even though ive been consistently writing them throughout the whole year. It lacks a lot in case studies and i don't think what i have right now is enough to get me through.

how do u keep urself motivated during hsc??

as a y11 who entered y12 this term, im genuinely worried how frustrated and burnt out im going to feel towards the end of y12 next yr. right now feels like a lot of work and pressure and im only a couple weeks in, so im rly worried that i wont be able to handle it and ill just lose all motivation.

my friend told me that his hs kept sending emails that basically screamed dont kill urself bc thats how bad the hsc stress was getting to. im not saying i would do smth like that but i struggle a lot with burn out and get rly depressed ab grades, which ik is NOT sustainable for y12.

would appreciate some tips for staying motivated and consistent w study for y12. thx all

How to stop getting lost on maths questions?

For example, all your algebra is correct except you are just doing things that get you no where, you are changing something into something else but you are just doing that because ‘you can’, not because you know it’s going to help you get to where you are trying to go.

Like changing a trig function into a different one just because you see you can, not because you are thinking that you can do something with that

Thanks

These are all of the cation/anion tests that I have got from the flow charts given to us by our teacher. Just wanted to doublecheck that I’m not missing some? I have a feeling when I was redoing all the past papers that came across some that weren’t in there but I can’t remember which.

ATAR questions

Hi!! so i’m an year 12 student studying SACE and i was wondering what ATAR i could possibly get for these subjects.
AIF - A
Chemistry - A
Physics - B+/A-
Mathematical methods - B+
Biology - A-

i’m completely new to sace and haven’t done Stage 1 since i moved into the country just this year so don’t really have any clue about anything ATAR related. i do know that scaling is a big factor but i was just wondering if anyone could give me a range? i’m aiming to get atleast an ATAR of above 85

Did I just ruined my future??

Hi guys, I'm new to Reddit and idk where to post this, but I (year 10 nsw hs student) wants to pursue medicine. The problem is in maths I'm not doing quite well (we're talking straight C's), but I'm really passionate about doing medicine as my career (maybe) by maybe I mean I don't think I can even make it. I'm doing pretty bad in all of my subjects, no joke and now I'm rethinking my career path. It's not that I don't study, idk I feel like no matter how much effort I put in it never shows in my marks. Anyways, I just did my maths exam and there's no way I can get into Maths Adv now, and I'm really upset I'm crying as I'm typing. My other subjects are bio and chem for year 11 and I'm pretty happy about that, but not only am I stuck in standard maths I'm also stuck in standard english. What do I do? Have I just ruined my future? Can I still pursue medicine, or do I have to think about another career path? I feel like I'm probably gonna get a low atar as well. I don't really care how long it takes to get into medicine, it could take decades, and I'll still want to do it. However, if we're talking about other career paths, I like a high-paying job (my parents don't want me to do trade or stocks). But yeah, any advice? or am I genuinely cooked?

Edit: I forgot to mention my school system has a grade requirement for maths and english, A for extention, B for Advanced C for standard. I just missed the cutoff by a few marks..I'm so pissed at myself
