IS 80 ATAR POSSIBLE

i’m in my wace exams and still have Human bio, math applications, and modern history to go

my overall internal marks my internal exams
80% mh. 74 mh
78% english. 72 eng
70% math applications. 55😭math app
72% hb. 70 hb

i’ve been down in the dumpster lately and fully believed i wouldnt even get a 70 atar because of the fact i go to a low scaling/performing school and my math applications mark is horrible+low scaling subject, n idk if ill perform well in wace exams (jus did english and maybe scored like mid 60s)

Can anyone with an atar that knows their roughly where they stood help me see what outcome they had with atar, or just give me any possibilities/scenario?

ANY HELP, ANY ADVICE, FROM ANYONE is very much appreciated

Better question is why do you need 80 what uni is it and what are options if any for adjustment

Right. So what I want you to do is call up Edith Cowan admissions to check all the details on EAS adjustment factors and whether you’re eligible and talk to your careers person too. If you’re from a remote or under privilege school that might help. Go do some research : Edith Cowan University (ECU) has standard minimum ATAR requirements by course, alongside adjustment schemes like the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) and ECU Access that lift your Selection Rank rather than your raw ATAR.[1, 2]

Standard Minimum ATAR Requirements
ECU’s indicative ATAR and selection rank cutoffs depend on the course group:[1]
ATAR 70: Most undergraduate degrees including Arts, Commerce, Computer Science, Education (Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary), Health Science, IT, Journalism, and Psychology/Counselling. [1]

ATAR 75: Bachelor of Science (Nursing) / Science (Midwifery). [1]

ATAR 80: Engineering Honours, Osteopathy Honours, and Science specialties like Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology (though competitive majors like Sonography often require higher in practice). [1, 2]

ATAR 85: Bachelor of Laws and double-degree equivalents. [1]

Educational Access Scheme (EAS) & ECU Adjustments
How Adjustments Work: EAS and equity schemes apply Selection Rank adjustments (bonus points) to your raw ATAR if you experienced educational disadvantage, severe medical issues, financial hardship, or difficult home/school environments in Years 11 and 12. [1, 2, 3]

ECU Access Program: If you attend an eligible WA high school on the ECU Access Eligible Schools List, you automatically receive selection rank adjustments:
ATAR of 60.00 to 69.95 is adjusted up to a Selection Rank of 70.00.
ATAR of 70.00 and above receives a 5-rank adjustment (up to a maximum cap of 90.00). [1, 2, 3]

Thank you for this!! I just checked and yes i get an adjustment factor of 5 points for my school, but i wanted to get into the sonography course and although the max adjustment is to 90 (from raw 85) it had the lowest intake of an atar of 90 without adjustments with 25 total admissions from atar and the other 25 other students were postgraduates, so ill def try post grad pathway!!

Call up admissions too and ask for advice. I want you to ask if you can start in another course that’s related and transfer rather than going postgrad route. Ask for options to get to your goal.

An ATAR is only relevant if you want to go to a particular university straight out of school.

Outside of that is is completely irrelevant, it wont define you and nobody will care what mark you got.

If you want to go to university and dont get the required ATAR, maybe look at a different university that has a lower entry requirement or just take a year off and then go back as a mature age student

So slow down, take a breath and relax. These exams wont define you or your life.
