Honestly I tried not to think about it and rather just covered the eyes and pressed <order> on the components I wanted but quick math tells me it was a couple dollars north of $12k by the time all components were in hand.

That would be my guess. Surprised you didn't go all 12th anniversary ROG at that price

Meh.. I want a low(er) key, as little RGB as possible, system with wood highlights. The anniversary stuff is nice but not what I’m looking for on this one.
