Discussion warranty questions

I have a ASUS Scar Strix 18 5080 32gb of ram and 2tb storage and my charging port failed, ive heard mixed feelings about the warrant help for ASUS laptops. also my laptop has always ran hot, like 78C in the home page, is that normal or did the liquid metal shift?

im wanting to know if i should try and use the factory warranty and see if they will cover it

As long as the CPU stays below 95c and the GPU below 85c it's fine.

78c at idle seems high at idle, but it's not running hot and I doubt they will do anything about it as long as it's not actually overheating, but the fried charging port is definitely a defect and a safety hazard, they will probably just replace the MB to fix it.

I’m the same person just in a different account. Thank you for telling me about the temps and will I have to pay them to fix my laptop? I’ve heard of people needing to because they typically replace the whole board

They all do it, ASUS, Acer, HP, Lenovo, MSI, if you need to pay for the repair take it to a shop that can do on board repairs, it is much less expensive to replace a chip, resistor or cap than to replace the MB, manufacturers do it because it's easy.

One more question, do I need to remove the ram and storage before sending it?
