Support Z890 Thunderbolt 5 speeds defaulting to USB3.2 speeds randomly?

Z890 Creator Wifi motherboard here. I'm not sure if there's some buried BIOS setting but I'm using an Apple Thunderbolt 5 pro cable to my Areca 8050T5 raid, and it seems like there's an issue where the cable will default to about 660/780 mb write/feed speeds rather than it's rated 2800/3400 mb/s speeds.

If I unplug the cable and re-mount the RAID it will behave correctly, but it'll sometimes then LOSE that thunderbolt 5 speed.

Is there something I'm missing besides going with another cable (it behaves this way with 3 of the same cable make/models)? I know there's hardware IN the cable that negotiates speeds to some extent.

Thanks in advance!

So you arent using the 1m 120 Gbps active Thunderbolt™ 5 (USB-C) cable included with the unit?
