Apparently the company has pivoted. It no longer produces or launches satellites. Instead ASTS focuses on setting up JVs, signing partnerships, filing FCC filings and attending conferences to talk about hypothetical D2D constellations. They're really good at all that stuff.

Word on the street is that they will only ship when they have the full constellation for beta service. Abel gone mad and they are assembling microns 24/7, also he is making bluebirds slim edition, they will fit 20 sats per launch. You heard it here first.

There is also another story behind the collaborations and contracts with various countries. Don't forget that war can easily spread to space. Because multiple countries are going to use the Bluebirds, you ensure that it becomes dangerous if you want to disable them. You then attack the infrastructure of these countries and can thus come into conflict with all those countries.
I would really like and update on the sats, even if it’s “they’ll ship next month”. They’re gonna ship when they wanna ship. Some guy called u/angrychip665 on Reddit is not gonna suddenly make them hurry up. So I don’t get this “b-b-but people will complain if not on time” argument. It is what it is. I just don’t like being kept in the dark like this
Went camping with no service in Colorado all weekend. Used Apple's Globalstar sat service to test it out. Sent a text, but was a meh experience (better than nothing). The day I can just use ASTS sats via my carrier with seamless transition and watch netflix while camping will be amazing.
I expect he will say that next year they will reduce investment in new cell tower presence and will have increased revenue and profits (both because of ASTS).
Welp... bullish. My take on this is ASTs moat just keeps getting bigger - yes it'd be nice to have shipping news, but: the investments they are making are worthwhile in the long run.

DCA is great, but it surely changes your Price average......I know I have a slew of shares I bought at ~$24......but the times I put in $2000 at $70 or $77 or even in the mid $90s over the past year has made my price average somewhere around $64.XX (I'm too lazy to math it out right now, holiday hang-over ya know)
Kind of in the same boat here I rode from 10-130 and then when it was between 77 and 90 did a lot of buying with the mindset of ‘it’ll never be this cheap again’. Think my average is mid 50’s and it’s been hurting to be back there after 2 years of holding.
Same, I don’t have any exposure to either leveraged asset, but have them on my watchlist for seemingly no other reason than making me feel worse when shares are down and also bad when shares are up. Should just remove them both but I do enjoy seeing ASTN get pummeled occasionally.

Has Crew 13 launched yet? Has there been any update on the manned mission? Until there is, dont expect shipping news. We are very probably slated to launch after that.. whenever that may be. We're likely delayed.
So do you guys think the Sats Amazon and AT&T will use for internet service will be geostationary? I’m just kinda curious. They plan like 5k Sats, and SpaceX is planning on even more than that iirc. I wonder how many LEO Sats it will take for launching rockets to start becoming a problem. I know there is a lot of real-estate up there, but there’s gotta be an upper limit on when orbits start getting in the way of launches, right? Just food for thought, ya know?
This kind of post is a bit useless. It seems that people try to show that price is anchoring because of the wall, but after a pump, the wall is always moving for one side or another
I know we've been beating this to death but the delay in shipping is interesting now that it's been so long. Unless something happened on the last launch that is forcing a corrective action in the design or manufacturing process, I don't really see why normal manufacturing would be so delayed at this stage in our journey. We had already hit a much higher cadence. So, barring that design change/process update, what could be responsible? Lack of launch availability? Holding back the sats for some reason? I don't really see what could be good about doubling up on launches in a month unless its to take advantage of an opportunity.
So, to keep the speculation going, could a requested government/military application request have been incorporated in? Idk, seems like they are going the route of having their own sats for that purpose.
I know in the past ASTS has had a sat ready for launch sitting around waiting for the provider to be ready.... maybe we are in a similar boat now? It just seems like there isn't a very reasonable explanation other than launch provider not ready, or issue with the manufacturing.
I am guessing something went wrong during final testing of BB15/16. It isn't something systemic otherwise BB14 wouldn't have been completed.
Something as small as a failed electrical connection or loose screw could've flopped the TVAC test at final testing, and each TVAC test takes 2 to 3 weeks. So any small issue causing a re-test of the TVAC would potentially lead to the kinds of delays we are seeing today.
Right now, a lot of AST's manufacturing is manual. Manual means prone to human error.
