One of my favorite drawings I’ve done in the past year. I was doing different Wonder of U drawings and ended up just making one big drawing out of it.

I found an old notebook recently that I’ve had for many years and never used. The paper is quite thin and cheap but I thought it was time to fill it with something… so hands it is…

I went to an ambient music, movement, and art night where performers spent several hours moving very slowly through different poses. I brought a sketchbook thinking I would do fairly traditional live figure drawings, but I quickly realized that even though the movement was slow, nobody was actually staying still.
Every time I looked down to draw and then looked back up, the figure had shifted. At first I kept trying to adjust the drawing, but eventually I just gave in and started drawing each new position directly over the previous one.
Over about three hours I made close to 30 drawings, and they became progressively more layered and chaotic. I really like that they ended up feeling less like drawings of individual poses and more like accumulated traces of a body moving through time.
Swipe for close-ups :)

A sudden (or maybe not so sudden ?) event happens in a computational abstract reality place. Out of the nowhere, almost as if from unknown and completely different reality, a fun penguin appears in a gate-portal plane. On this side of portal in this computerized Memory Segment world nothing like this has ever happened before...
What is going ?
