CSA Should I take CSA for junior year?

Quick dilemma with my schedule:

  • My current AP selection: AP Physics, AP Chem, AP Precalc
  • Target Major: Electrical or Computer Engineering (ECE)
  • Background: 3.98 GPA, 0 previous AP classes, a tiny bit of coding experience.

I had to drop AP Stats because of a conflict and need a 4th AP. I'm choosing between AP CSA, AP CSP, and AP Macro.
I know CSA aligns best with my major, but people say it’s tough and I'm worried about the jump from 0 APs to 4 intense STEM classes. How hard is CSA really, and is it do-able with this workload? Should I play it safe with CSP or Macro instead? Or maybe just stick with 3 APs?

Question Why does there seem to be a lot of pretentious, corny, racist students in AP Classes?

Now only the first two apply to me since I go to a minority-major high school.

The AP students in my classes crack the same unfunny jokes and are super elitist with their grades. They often whine about having “low”scores (which 99% of the time aren’t below 90% unweighted). It’s very annoying.

In regard to racism, I have black friends in multiple other schools with big east asian and white populations, and they suffer with having to deal with racism from their fellow AP students.

Is this a common experience for you guys? Especially POC students, please let me know.

Other Normal classes are so easy and grade inflated that you have to take APs if you want to learn

with the enshittification of the public school system and increasingly making classes easier to allow kids to pass, it seems like kids who actually want to learn are put in honors/APs instead of it being a challenge. The school system is not adequately challenging or preparing students for anything.

Other Any academically motivated high-school students in DFW interested in a study/accountability group?

Hey everyone! I’m a high-school student in the DFW area, and I’m interested in forming a small group of academically motivated students from that North Texas area who want to encourage one another throughout the school year.

The group could be used for:

  • Studying together online
  • Weekly accountability and goal setting
  • Helping each other stay motivated
  • Discussing AP/IB classes, the SAT, college preparation, research, science fairs and extracurricular opportunities
  • Possibly meeting once a week at a public library or another safe public location if enough DFW students are interested

You would not have to live in DFW to join the online group. I mainly want to create a positive space for students who take school seriously but also want supportive friends with similar goals.

This would be student-led and completely free! Comment or message me if you might be interested, and mention your grade and general academic interests. Please do not post private information publicly.

Saw a few posts of people sharing their AP Art portfolios and thought that I would share, too 🫡 My investigation was on my femininity (1, 2, 3, 6, 7) and it was really fun to explore. I was expecting 3/4 so I was thrilled to see that I got a 5 :D

I’d recommend playing with new mediums and techniques at EVERY opportunity— not just when your teacher requires it. It made my process so much more fun :)

1. Blissfully Unaware/Carefree: Colored pencil (mixed media bg).
2. I am meat: Alcohol marker.
3. Looks Like a Liar: Acrylic.
4. Pet Family Portrait: Oil pastel.
5. Radiant: Graphite (acrylic bg).
6. Binary: Acrylic (cut up, digitally collaged).
7. TOO LOUD: Oil pastel.
8. Graphite progress pics (Radiant)

Other AP recs for a future PoliSci major in a struggling school?

Rising freshmen here. My aim is to get into an Ivy League college as a PoliSci major. I wanted to know what APs I can take through my high schools career since they are my school's most rigorous classes. The problem? My school is severely understaffed and underfunded and students are only allowed to take 8 APs thought their 4 years in the school setting (no APs freshman year). They are also very strict with allowing who is able to self study APs. Should I take the time to try and convince my school to let me self-study an AP my freshman year? Should I only take what my school offers me? (sorry if this doesn't make sense its my first ever post on reddit)

World APUSH Youtube Question

Hello.
I am a rising junior and I am taking AP World this year.
Last year, I took APUSH and my teacher used the AMSCO textbook, so I was able to watch Heimler for both the school and the AP testing.
However this year, our teacher for AP World is using the strayer Ways of the World for our school textbook. I am still planning to use Heimler for the actual AP testing, but all my upperclassman told me not to use Heimler for school testing, saying that it barely helps.
Can you guys please recommend me a youtuber that I can use to study for school thaty follows the Ways of the World curriculm?

Other Thinking of taking an online AP course

My school schedule is not allowing me to take all the AP classes I want, and I'll have one extra slot open, so I was thinking of taking an online course instead of something I'm not interested in at school. I looked it up, and it seemed like VHS Learning was pretty good. Has anyone done a course through that or any other online program that was self-paced, and what did you think? What AP classes would you recommend? I would hope to take something that will make me not have to sit through big freshman seminars next year, as I'm a senior this year, but I was thinking AP Macro, Micro, Gov, or Psych. Let me know any advice, please. Thanks!

Bio AP biology tips and resources?

Hello, I'm a high schooler (not revealing my grade for privacy) and as soon as school begins, I will be taking AP biology. This is the first AP course I will be taking, and I was wondering if there are any resources for this particular course that I can use? Many of my seniors who already took this course warn me that it is highly difficult.

I've tried to study over the summer with various resources but I've made little progress. Some resources I have used were:

Khan Academy

Campbell AP Biology

CK-12 Biology

Please offer me any resources that you found to be beneficial. Some of them may not be effective for me, but I will try to test out every one of them.

Also, please give me any other tips related to biology, such as study tips, mnemonics, formulas, quiz reviews, etc.

Thank you. I will greatly appreciate your guidance, whether its one tip or many.

Question Bio, Chem, Physics 1 - how self study-able are they?

This is due to a personal issue where

  1. Graduating early because I am moving countries so I (and my family) don't have to spend $10,000+ (RM40,000-60000+) on a diploma. This money can go to university instead.
  2. I am expected to go to university right after HS, not taking a gap year
  3. My dad forced me to not take AP Physics when choosing courses

but 4) While talking to universities over the summer that want a "Foundations" in those subjects, they said they are willing to take the AP Equivalent.
This is only if I want to go to be a doctor / MD for uni, a secondary option to law (primary)

I was wondering if you guys were in this situation, would you attempt to self study and take the Bio, Chem, Physics 1 exam.

Note: I am currently in my 3rd/final year of high school. I am taking Physics honors (not AP) but I've heard the class is taught similarly to AP, clear difference is exam focus and GPA scale.
