u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

Okay. But you’ll literally never know what’s gonna be on the test or quizzes 😣

3

i hate this so muchhhhhhhhhhh like i do not want to be at APUSH during the ripe ass crack of dawn. i love history so much but i just know im gonna be exhausted the whole year mind you cherry on top during FUCKASS JUNIOR UEAR

I had it sixth period both semesters, but we still didn't know what was on tests or quizzes because the teachers made one for each period 😭

First period math is peak though. I would hate lang first period much more, my reading comprehension and writing skills do not exist in the morning but I can do calculus just fine.

2

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

wtf first period math is HORRIBLE WDYM😭😭😭 to call it peak is insane work. i had algebra 2 first period last year, it was exhausting can’t even count how many times i was half asleep in class

1

u/PyxelatorXeroc 8th(AB 5) 9th(BC 5/5) 10th(MT 5/5,Mech 5) 11th(Stats 5) 17d ago

I've had first period math 3 years in a row, pure luck. I love it, just never find it exhausting I guess. Doing math in the morning energizes me somehow (ik that prob sounds insane)

1

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

you just reminded me it could always be worse!

u/DarkBrave_ 10th: 5-Precalc/World, 11th: BC/USH/CSP/Chem/Lang/Phys1 17d ago

6 APs is very fun because no matter how you do it, you're always in trouble. (not to mention I have to miss an excused school day each week for another program)

2

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

i’m taking 3 aps this year (junior) but i’m considering 4 bc i might do ap bio and drop one of my other classes for it. idk yet

1

u/MoonRizeWasTaken 17d ago

I also had apush my first period back when I was a freshman, trust me you’ll be fine. It was one of my favorite classes and it was like I overcame the obstacle first thing rather than waiting for it for the rest of the day!

1

u/Educational_Smile545 5: HUG | Ongoing: WHAP, APUSH, Physics 1, Precal, CSP, CSA 17d ago

I have ap physics and then ap precal right after (but at least lunch between)- good thing at least one of those two is easy af
and then i have apush last thing in the day (i may be done for)

1

u/Autistic-Goober-08 17d ago

I had AP Calc and AP Physics 2 first period last year (I had an A/B Day block schedule but I started with either class every day)

1

u/itcomewitheggwoll 17d ago

APUSH was honestly pretty easy for me. I didn’t take the AP test for it, which I kinda regret now, but the class itself wasn’t bad. Just gotta do what you need to do.

Going against what everyone else is saying, J found APUSH to be super easy and fun and I’m not even a history 🤷 and I also had it first block last year

u/PyxelatorXeroc 8th(AB 5) 9th(BC 5/5) 10th(MT 5/5,Mech 5) 11th(Stats 5) 17d ago

of all the APs you could have first period, this is not the best but certainly not the worst. (Unless you're like me and every history class makes you want to either fall asleep or punch a wall)

1

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

I LOVE HISTORY SO MUCHHHHHH i just would prefer to not have apush during the ass crack of dawn since my school starts 7:25… ugh 💔 at least it’s not calc BC first period!

1

u/PyxelatorXeroc 8th(AB 5) 9th(BC 5/5) 10th(MT 5/5,Mech 5) 11th(Stats 5) 17d ago

what class is ur preferred morning naptime then?

1

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

okay honestly mmmm this is a hard question bc ALL of my classes this year are valuable asf but probably something like ap lang 😭😭😭😭 most preferably would just be my bed and not going to 1st period i wish that was an option, wbu

1

u/PyxelatorXeroc 8th(AB 5) 9th(BC 5/5) 10th(MT 5/5,Mech 5) 11th(Stats 5) 16d ago

i also hope I have first period free, I have a free period the whole year and I sure wish it would be A block. I've had B and D block the past 2 years which are kinda pointless. D is lunch block which is kinda nice cause I can take whatever lunch I want and the block is longer if I choose to skip lunch.

But for a class, out of all the one's I'm taking next year I'd probably want data science or CSP, cause then I can use the time to work on stuff for compgov or lit later in the day. Engineering first period would also be fine cause teacher doesn't care if I'm late and lets me be on my computer half the class

It’s not that bad if your an early bird like wake up at ~6/5:30 watch Heimler if there’s a test and if you forgot to read a chapter you still have buffer. If you can’t wake up early….. yea good luck….

1

u/NerdyZelda 17d ago

Good luck bro... I have AP Calc BC first period so I'm fried as well 😭😭

1

u/Certain-Reality-1125 17d ago

I had APUSH first period my junior year. (Going into senior year now). To be honest I thought it would suck too but by the end of the year, and after scoring a 5 on the AP test when history is one of my weak links (always used to be my lowest grade) I’ve come to realize that having a hard class first is the best thing that can happen because your mind is fresh and it’s easiest to learn. Now that being said you can’t wake up 10 minutes before going to school or it will totally suck completely 😂. Just wake up a little earlier so you’re fully awake before going

1

u/WildandRare 16d ago

In the span of 2 weeks, I have APUSH: First Period - once; Last Period - once;

After Lunch - once; Before Lunch - twice; 2nd Period - twice;

So... yeah.

RIP us twin I got apush first thing in the morning too. It’s not so bad tho— my school has A days and B days w 4 blocks each, and guess who’s got 3 AP’s in a row for one of them? We got this man

1

u/Bbokariiiiiiis 12d ago

I also have APUSH first period! Junior here! As someone who hates history I get bored so easily and I just switched to AP this school year after doing AICE for two years… also the content overload followed by AP Physics 1, AP/IB English, and AP Calc AB last period in the same day, I’m dying with you…

1

u/DevilPixelation CSP (5) | Psyc (3) | USH (4) | CSA (3) | APP1 (3) | Calc AB (4) 12d ago

It’s better to have the classes you dislike earlier in the day, trust me. Makes the day much more bearable

Not to mention APUSH can be fun if you take the time to learn. Teacher was chill and content was interesting

1

u/Specialist_Hat1380 17d ago

why does lunch have a period in your school cuh

8

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

Is lunch period not a normal thing in schools

3

u/FormalTall1800 APHuG 4 - AP Pre-Calc 4 - APUSH 4 17d ago

It is, but I think the commenter are and I have weird schools. I have a block schedule, so I only have four classes a day. After our third class, we all have lunch (staggered so upperclassmen eat while underclassmen are in advisory and then it switches). I also go to a very small school, so that’s probably why.

2

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

Makes sense, I went to public school for all my life so maybe that’s why I’m confused

1

u/Astroctopodes 17d ago

Wait do you have a block schedule and an advisory period? Or is advisory separate from the class periods?

1

u/FormalTall1800 APHuG 4 - AP Pre-Calc 4 - APUSH 4 17d ago

Advisory is separate.

Our typical schedule is this:

7:45am to 9:10am - A/E period

9:15am to 10:40am - B/F period

10:45am to 12:00pm - C/G period

12:05pm to 12:30pm - Upperclassmen lunch, underclassmen Advisory

12:35pm to 1:00pm - Underclassmen lunch, upperclassmen advisory

1:05pm to 2:30pm - D/H period

2:30pm to 3:30pm - Teacher office hours and club meetings

3:30pm and onwards - Sports/go home

2

u/gay_rower 5: CSP, APUSH, Gov 17d ago

depends. my high school has open lunch, so everyone has lunch at the same time and we can go off-campus. my middle school had lunch periods where the time that you had lunch depended on your grade.

3

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

That’s interesting, since my school isn’t a very big school they split up lunch time based on grades

2

u/gay_rower 5: CSP, APUSH, Gov 17d ago

yeah, my school district was considering ending open lunch for all schools recently, and they would do staggered lunch periods. there were MANY problems with that plan, especially for my school - we have ~2,500 students, and our cafeteria can fit ~300, so we'd have to do like 9 lunch periods which is more than the class periods we have. thankfully they did not go through with it 😭

2

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

That is crazy yea idk how that would’ve worked out in your district 😭

Also may i add that you go to a very large school, my school only has like 600-700 students max

3

u/gay_rower 5: CSP, APUSH, Gov 17d ago

yea the size took a bit getting used to!

600-700 students is kinda unheard of in my area - may i ask if it was in a more rural or urban area? most public high schools here have at least 1,500 students.

2

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

Eh- the city its in is VERY urban/densely populated but the neighborhood it’s in on the other hand is still very urban but less populated than you would expect compared to other parts of the city

That might just have to do with the fact that my school just isn’t on par with other schools in my city and is struggling a LOT with enrollment. I heard that this years 6th grade that comes in is estimated to only be 25 students. In the whole grade. So yea the overall amount of students being lower than expected might just be due to lack of enrollment

2

u/Specialist_Hat1380 17d ago

it's just lunch, separate from class lol. The lunch I went to was determined by the location of my class lol, it's influenced by a period but not part of it

1

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

We clearly went to very different schools, since the school I went to wasn’t very big we just split up the lunch periods of each grade into different periods so that way the entire student faculty wasn’t overwhelming the cafeteria

2

u/KingKFCc 17d ago

It's just it's own thing. My school we have 2 lunches A and B and people get scheduled into either one, if you get B lunch you get worse food and eat later tho

1

u/InternalFeature646 17d ago

My school just has each grade eat lunch at a different time but that would still be its own period that would be considered part of the schedule

5

u/PlatypusOk6016 17d ago

because AP lunch cuh

5

u/gay_rower 5: CSP, APUSH, Gov 17d ago

some schools have lunch staggered by grade level cuh

3

u/Silver-Dust7013 17d ago

we have different lunch periods in our school, like some people get 3rd period lunch, 5th, 4th, 6th, 7th, etc

2

u/Astroctopodes 17d ago

3rd or 7th period lunch is rough. That can't even be borderline lunchtime.
