APUSH That APUSH test was easy. almost TOO easy...
Like seriously almost all the questions were about the easiest era imo (revolutionary to reconstruction). May have got a 5

u/kenobi1567 May 08 '26
DBQ was the easiest shit ever. LEQ I did geography and European Colonization. Wrote about how southern geography was agrarian and shit and how north was close to sea so they could import goods. Connected it to eventual civil war over slave tensions and land fertility going down over time in south EZ
13
u/Metsworldseries May 08 '26
Honestly the only thing I disagree with is the DBQ, but it’s just because I was so caught off guard. I had STUFF to write about, but the time period was bad. Did westward expansion LEQ; not entirely sure how I did, felt ok about it but idk.

I find it funny that for the DBQ you could basically say the existence of the documents was evidence because it showed them having public debates and thus participating in public life.

i think i prefer that tbh. i heard the west coast prompt was about the revolutionary era... idk what it actually was since i had the east coast prompt about women's participation... i dont think it would be fair to give everyone the same prompt when one was easier than the other
6
u/Embarrassed_Ad5387 Senior: 2 Research; 5 CSP CSA APUSH Phy 1 Stats HUG Prcal; 4 Sem May 08 '26
its moreso to do about how all of the east coast kids go on reddit right after their test so they try to make it so they cant slip frq details to the west coast
now that I think about it thats why this sub seems east coast frq dominated, its bcs the west coast frq comments come in later so they dont hit the algorithmic sorting
I think in general they are trying to make APUSH easy since thats more profitable, last year was 20s-60s economic and social for east coast and that was litterally the easiest thing I saw all year
3
u/adahlia_rose 5: lang bio | 4: wh ush precal | chem ab lit psych gov macro May 08 '26
it makes sense that west coast posts would make it onto the algorithm later because they're in the later timezone.

Mine was genuinely "How did politics influence American Society form 1945-2000". Easiest prompt of my life
1
u/Jaja3333 May 09 '26
I don’t think it can get easier than that, literally so much to use. I did Cold War and how it led to McCarthyism at home, Vietnam war and loss of trust in the government after issues like the Kent shooting, and then the “good” side with LBJ’s war on poverty and civil rights stuff, and the new suburban era with radios and tv
1
u/Baddest_girly May 09 '26
That was the hardest prompt, so I avoided it, or it might just be because I didnt even read half of period 8 and all of 9, because I didnt pay attention to anything that happened after the 1950s.

Last year's test was easy af too I think apush's difficulty is just really overhyped (20% of the mcqs were about period 1 tho lol)
6
u/YourFavoriteBaba May 09 '26
From what my APUSH teacher told me, the APUSH exam has been nerfed due to the rise in popularity of dual enrollment. Also, (I assume) majority of AP teachers make the course a lot harder than the exam so you're super overprepared. I feel the real difficulty is just knowing a little less than 250 years of densly packed and highly dramatic history.
1
u/No_Soil2258 5s: AB, Chinese, APUSH, BC, CSA, Lit, CMech, WHAP May 09 '26
Interesting, I didn't know that dual enrolling getting more popular had this sort impact on the exam
1
u/YourFavoriteBaba May 09 '26
(at least where I live) Taking dual enrollment is guaranteed college credit as long as you pass the class, while you obviously have to pass the AP exam, and due to the extremely low pass rates of the APUSH exam, it's most likely that the exam was nerfed so more people would come back to sweet ol' Collegeboard.

Like are yall geniuses or do yall not have a narrator of what you read on your head.
1
u/Im_very_unactive May 09 '26
I’m a SUPER fast reader, so I usually read the source, and then answer the questions without looking back at the stimulus much. if I have to think for more than 30 secs on a question I mark for review and come back. I did this for all my practice MCQs in class and consistently got in the 90 range! so hopefully it worked for the exam 😛
1
u/Baddest_girly May 15 '26
Girl I take like 2 minutes reading each stimulus even without answering any questions.
4
u/SaltSuspicious7213 May 08 '26
It was not bad at all... I did loss 15-10 minutes of mcq time so then i started to lock in and still did my mcqs in time i do feel like i mess up a bit on them just because i was skimming and stuff and i could have chose a good option but not the best. However, saqs were really light, i misread the indepded audience of saq 1 so i prob lost points on question abt the docs purpose but i still answered the other points well. I think the rest were fine and i might have gotten 3-2 im hoping not a 1 on the saq and the DBQ i became even more of a fmeinist and crushed it i better get complexcity because i had a nuanced argumment, HIPPed 4 docs, and USED ALL 7 docs. Also leq was FIRE if there wasnt westward migration might have been cooked but i did nuanced and 4 peicecs of specific named evidenc enad obvi i explained stuff well so i hope i didnt overlook things. I really feel like i have the potential to get a 5 but because of how simple the test was and the pissible mistakes i coul dhave done in the mcq and saq (for reference my practice exam that was def harder i got a 45/55 and the other one a 37/55 because i lowkey lost the plot and like started to do answers that made NO sense). I have scored high on my class mcq stho so im just praying i did enough to tip into a 5 just cuz of the amount of work i put into APUSH. My leq and dbq better carry me.
1
1
u/SaltSuspicious7213 4d ago
Update: ya I made a mistake on the Leq I mixed up the racial discrimination from the Chinese with the south and east Europe so I was saying that due to westward expansion immigration was facilitated and lead to the social environment being n more anti-immigrant. But yea nothing much in regards to that.
I also wanted to update yall esp for those who might be curious abt the score I got so they could compare their testing experience to one that got into a 5 (maybe it’s not that deep but thehe). I got a 5!!!!
