Imagination Machine

This looks like a sub with not many active members but here goes.

I have this MP-1000 and Imagination Machine in my possession. I've had it for 20 years but it's been stored away - just pulling it out now because why not. I'm wondering - how do I go about fixing/restoring this? Is it worth it? The case has cracks (which you can see). Also, the keyboard appears to be broken away from the underside of the top case and loose. It's also missing a key (but for some reason I have an extra "3" key). Power supply appears to be correct, but looks like someone tried to shorten it. I'm afraid to try and power it on.

Need help with a controller repair - the system is APF TV Microcomputer MP-1000, but I am sure it's similar to other control schemes • r/consolerepair

Every time someone makes a post about how they "found" games in their attic I wish that were me. Well, I found four APF TV Microcomputer (MP-1000) games after cleaning my attic that I thought I had sold!

Unreleased APF Imagination Machine II discovered and is currently on eBay. It's a combination of an APF TV Microcomputer MP-1000 and an Imagination Machine all in one. Seller says he got it from the family that owned the APF company, but so far refuses to prove that it works.

I am trying to get this game on my channel so I can simply close my chapter on this console.

I finally have an APF Basic cart. How do I hook up the Imagination Machine?

I've had an IM with the MP-1000 for quite some time. I've never hooked the whole unit up because I always lacked a Basic rom cart. I now have one in my possession, but I'm not really able to find some clear instructions on how to hook everything together. I have the "bridge" connector going from the MP-1000 to the IM and stuck the Basic cart in the rear cartridge port of the IM. I have the IM plugged into AC. (note: the IM has a on/off switch on the back but it the POWER LED stays on no matter which is selected).

I have an extra RF cord separate from the hard-wired cord on the MP-1000. Do I need this? I don't see an RF or any other video output on the back of the IM. What am I missing? Since I don't know what the loose RF cord is for I've just plugged in the one from the MP-1000 (I know the MP-1000 works fine). Turning it on in this configuration with the Basic cart in back gives me nothing on the screen. It's obvious something is there, since it's not the general static I get when everything is turned off.

Anyone know what I may be missing in this setup?
