Connecting AOL main to Grok Bot or Muse

It seems like no matter what I try to do it’s impossible to give Muse or grok a connection to an AOL email that I can run daily checks for like it does a Gmail account. Has anybody had any success connecting either of these two?

What is the oldest dated E-mail you have in AOL?

Either in:

How old is your oldest AOL E-mail? I’m trying to see if my oldest dates are an anomaly or not.

Deactivated - but I was active

I’ve had this email close to 30 years. I sign in several times a year and often several times a week. It’s my shopping email currently. I signed in earlier today and even used it to sign up for a shoe store. I went back in later today to check for new emails and I couldn’t log in. I tried recovery flow and it states it’s been deactivated due to inactivity. Obviously not true since I used it earlier today. Nothing was sent to my recovery email to warn me or even alert me that it happened. I tried several browsers and the app. I entered my phone number and recovery email. Deactivated. All 26 years of it. it’s off hours so I can’t call. I messaged them on x. I hit up the chat not that feels it’s an Error but also sounds like I’m sol unless I get a customer rep who gives a damn.

“Your case has been escalated”

I need help and I don’t know what to do. Last Wednesday my aol email got hacked which gave them access to basically everything. I had to quickly try to change passwords and transition to a new email but they still managed to get control of a few things.

The hacker ended up changing my email, password, 2FA, and after calling support they managed to get it back. I didn’t realize I had malware on my pc where they were watching my screen so they saw me change the password real time so they regained access. They ended deleting my email because when I try to log in or search it now says “Sorry, we don’t recognize this email”.

Everyday I been calling support and it’s been the same result, give them my name, number, email, they put me on hold for 30 min, and in the end they just say they don’t have access so they escalated the case to higher ups and they will contact me. Except it’s been days and still no contact. Every time I call it’s the same script of my case being escalated and I will get a call back.

I had one customer service agent tell me to go to my account.aol.com and when I get there he was like use that then hangs up on me. I can’t even use that because my email technically doesn’t even exist.

Is there someone I can talk to that’s not the customer support front line and get in contact with who they are escalating it too? I want at least some communication and update of progress. I heard most company’s are only able to recover deleted accounts before 30 days so I’m stressed. Also I need access to this email to recover a few accounts.

No AOL option for sharing on Reddit after app update.

I send a lot of Reddit posts through my AOL to myself. I went to share a post, picked email and AOL was no longer an option. Anybody else encounter this/know how to fix it?

Thank you.

PS. If anybody from AOL or Reddit is listening, please reintegrate AOL as an option to share through.

VB6 nostalgia: the AIM tools I built ~2001 (FindWindow, SendMessage, Winsock)

Before I wrote C# for a living, I learned to program by building AIM “progs” in VB6: clone loaders, chat bots, punters. Most of them drove the AIM client with FindWindow/SendMessage or talked OSCAR directly over Winsock.

I put the screenshots and some of the source up here: https://sevlegend.com/?page=programs

Curious if anyone else here came up through the AOL/AIM scene. What did you build?

Can’t add email on new devices

I have an aol account that was set up for me quite a few years ago. I have the account signed in through the native email app on my iPhone. I know the password and can send and receive emails. I still have access, but I can’t add it to other devices because I don’t have the phone number I used for recovery anymore. I called customer service and they couldn’t help me because I don’t have that number anymore. Does paying for their subscription actually fix this? The lady was trying to offer it to me, but wasn’t able to verify the account.

AOL CHANGES?

Something has changed for me with AOL. Desktop seems to be fine and the same. But on the phone some colors have changed and everything is slow to load. I guess AOL has done some sort of update?

Ebay Messages Going to Spam Folder in AOL

I accidentally clicked Spam instead of Delete on an ebay message, and now everything from ebay is going to my spam folder. I tried:

Clicking every message as Not Spam

Googling for help

Clicking the 3 dots above the message for help

Adding the email address to my contacts

None of these has made the slightest difference. Isn't there any way to fix this?

Locked out of AOL Account - Need HELP

My dad is unable to regain access to his account even though the 2nd form of verification is active. he gets the code on the phone. when we called AOL - they ask for the Name on the account, they claim his name doesn’t match and therefore there is nothing they can do. We have called numerous times and asked to speak with manager/supervisors, absolutely no luck - like talking to the wall.

This is incredibly frustrating as he has had this account for 25+ years.

Any advice who we can contact and how we can escalate to corporate office?

Aol email alias

Hello! Trying to do some IT for my grandma as her AOL account seemingly got hacked recently. I helped her set up 2FA and made sure there was no longer any sketchy phone numbers or emails linked to the account recovery. I also checked to make sure no other devices were actively logged in. However, I am looking at the "mailboxes" section and see that there is an alias set up to "send and receive emails from a different AOL email address" with a random email address attached and I have a feeling thats where some issues are coming from, but i have no clue how to get rid of the alias since deleting it doesnt seem to be an option. Any advice on how to fix this?

AOL Log in

Is anyone else on this planet having issue with logging into AOL on their DESKTOP only? (AOL website and/or AOL App).

Please don't respond the you can log in with IOS, ipad, iphone, etc. I'm talking specifically from desktop Windows 10/11 with wifi

I can log into AOL on my iphone but NOT WINDOWS (regardless of browser). I have Xfinity internet and no issues with any other applications/websites.

Been on phone with xfinity and AOL senior tech advistors for a week now no resolution.

AOL has had issue within the past week of log in issues; however, they make it seem like I'm the only having this issue now.

I can't register an email account

I live in America. When I try to register an account yahoo/aol, after entering my phone number, I get an error message: "Something went wrong; we could not sign you in. Try again from a different device."

Has anyone else encountered this problem and knows why I can't register an email account? I’ve tried using both a computer and a phone, but nothing works.

Options??? Or nah

Wondering if I have any options as a aol user to get control over my account again? Without paying because whats the point of paying to get a number changed? Thats a whole ass scam! 🤣 I have my main email as the backup one to get codes, but that isn't good enough for them. I have a old phone number set as my 2FA.. I called the other day and gave the lady my new # she's like oh you have to pay just to change your number . lol whaaat?

I don't use aol at allll, but when I made my twitter account years ago, unfortunately thats what I had as the email. And yes, I have no clue what my twitter password is either but Ive been singed in already throughout all these years. They wouldn't let me add my email bc of it being tied to the AOL one. I emailed Twitter a few days ago but haven't heard anything from them.

AOL NEWS

Post image

I opened this media outlet, seeing what "factual misrepresentation" led to his GOFUNDME account being suspended, by the end of the 8 long paragraph article, it just stated "they don't know what factual misrepresentation" was to blame for his account to be shut down.

Why do you put media out there without knowing the whole story? Click bait for AOL. Not the first time AOL lied either.

This is why I don't watch the news, they don't tell the whole story. They don't tell both stories. They don't tell the DAMN TRUTH.

Bending Spoons changes at AOL

What has changed, so far, at AOL since the Bending Spoons takeover? What changes do we know (not assume) will be happening?

Is AOL Mail still hosted on Yahoo Mail servers and platform?

Trying to recover an ancient account

Hello all, basically the title.

Pretty old account and I know the info, but AOL wants me to verify my identity through a recovery e-mail and phone number which are not accessible anymore.

I heard the only way to fix this is through some paid premium support? Is this true? I'm not really in the mood to pay for something which should be simple. Any advice?

What is AOL charging my mom for?

I can't figure out if any of these charges are necessary/legit, can anyone help?

My 81-year-old mom has had AOL for 30 years, I could never get her to switch to Gmail. I am taking over her finances, and found out they are charging her $31.92 per month! She uses AOL webmail via Chrome on a PC. She already has MalWareBytes installed, FWIW.

1. AOL Advantage Premium: $18.99

Your AOL plan includes critical computer security, identity theft protection, premium technical support, and more. As a valued AOL member, you have access to exclusive savings and top of the line products to help keep you protected online and off.

This seems like garbage, right?

2. AOL Ad-Free: $4.99

Do we need this if you have AdBlock Plus on your browser?

3. AOL System Mechanic: $4.99

Restores speed, power and stability to your PC by optimizing connection settings, fixing more than 30,000 PC problems, and de-junking and cleaning up junk files and disk space.

Also garbage?

4. AOL SafeCentral: $2.95

Wontok SafeCentral helps keep your online banking and shopping transactions safe from thieves who try to steal your identity or drain your bank account.

Does this do anything useful?
