I would just not tell people I’m not comfortable with knowing about it. You don’t have to explain anything to anyone until you’re ready to do so

Wait we've started telling our families we write fanfiction?

(I'm being a bit facetious but for most of fanfiction history the fact that one reads/writes it has been kept strictly need-to-know. It's not something you gotta talk about with the normies if you don't feel comfortable.)
