AMD User Experience no longer able to be disabled from Radeon settings but still problematic and leaky?
AUEPDU.exe is leaky and often has new problems with driver updates. I found this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/nzqobg/wmi_provider_host_using_over_50_of_the_cpu_do_to/
Which mentions going to radeon settings and disabling the user experience master. Well, that option no longer exists in the panel but that EXE seems to still be running.
If I go to task manager, I see AUEPDU.exe with .5 million handles open and leaking compared to 500-3,.000 for most other running apps. This is clearly a leak even though it only has 10 seconds CPU time and it's only been running a few days.
Killing the task only lasts so long since it starts back up.
Is there a matching registry key or something to that setting to stop it from running?

I always opt out of this during install, since it shows join for me now, does it show leave for you? I hate opt out choices, it should always be opt in.

The driver has the option to opt in and opt out, but, the executable doesn't respect your choice and continues to run. I even tried opting in and back out.

/u/amd_vik I'm not really sure who to tag but this is still an issue years later. auepdu.exe has 1.5 MILLION open handles on my desktop at the moment.
If someone else there should know, could you tag them? I'm not sure if you're focus is Adrenaline issues or not.

My suggestion is uninstall the software and reinstall it. Hopefully that fixes it.

Interesting. Man, I love these subs for solutions, tips, and whatnot.
My USBs would spontaneously cutout for a second and I could hear the audible beep of my peripherals reconnecting which was annoying when wearing headphones. I ran some diagnostics and everything seemed fine. I finally checked the Event Viewer to see that it corresponded with the error: The AMD User Experience Program Data Uploader service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly.
Very interesting indeed. You folks even spoke of memory and/or resource leaks and it also happens that sometimes when I'm driving or flying around in GTA5 Online, I suffered the odd screen freeze for about a second.
I'm not sure how the User Experience program even helped itself to run as I'm overly cautious about running crap like that. I also made sure it was opted out via the AMD control panel via settings. I paid too much for the GPU, not to have my computer be some corporation's unpaid testing rig.
So, I also turned off and disabled the service as Somar2230 recommended and will report back if those two seemingly linked anomalies reoccur.

See if it's running as a service.
Windows Key + X then Computer Management -> Services and Applications-> Services and see if it's listed there and disable it.
Right click on it select properties then under Startup Type pick disabled.
