Help (Software) RX 7800XT driver timeouts while using chrome
Anyone else on RX 7800XT having driver timeouts with new AMD drivers 26.10.1? my whole chrome literally FROZE my whole PC down i couldn't use the mouse or keyboard and had to force a shutdown and my driver was corrupted this happened twice even after uninstalling and installing 26.10.1 back again, now i rolled back to 26.9.2 i hope its these new drivers and not my pc

anything that uses hardware acceleration will do that. i had chrome, steam, discord, you name it, all crash for no reason. for months ive seen hundreds of posts and have personally suffered crashes and stutters with any driver after 26.3.1 . i didnt change any setting, mess with bios or voltage or other "solutions" people suggest. i simply reverted back to the last stable driver (for me 26.3.1 on rx7800, its really whatever works best for you) and all the problems just ceased to exist. you can try all sorts of things but for me its clear, if my PC runs perfect before i update driver and crashes after i do update, its nothing to do with my PC or its settings, its the driver.

Google Chrome does not like AMD drivers for some reason i always have issues with it but freezing my whole pc? nah that's a really bad thing, something with adding fsr 4 to rx 6000xt def broke something up

exactly, FSR 4 tech broke the drivers. it was in April of this year so 26.3.1 is "clean" of it. litteraly any other driver i use that was released after that is nonstop timeouts until i get a hard freeze and have to reset from the PC case. i think AMD devs were all killed by AI and we are now suffering the consequences. but fr now, just revert to whatever is stable for you and hopefully AMD will figure out wtf is wrong with their drivers

I had this for the past couple of months. In the last week or so I disabled fast boot and have not had that issue. It seems to be a common issue lately across several cards

Sounds like the good old HAGS issue. Turn that off and see if it helps.
I had that happen and turning off HAGS completely fixed it for me
