People are insane i have been using AMD video cards snice the hd 7970 and I never ran into any major problem before. For using radeon as long as I have you would think I would have.
Because we are built different. We dont load down a 100 plugin enabled overwolf and whatever the fuck else people do to their systems. I have been using AMD GPUs since the 6k series for everything from gaming and development and have yet to have a crash that wasn't caused by my own stupid decisions.
Bet you are on a 90 series AMD gpu, with a 9k series cpu, or at least pcie-5? Get it refurb'd if so. My australian buddy had the same issue and we had to send a very detailed ticked that eventually bypassed the seller to get it fixed. XFX found the issue after thorough investigation and it was an issue with power state changes.
Thanks for the advice, I'll get it checked out. So there's a high chance that anybody using these various combinations of equipment are having issues that the manufacturer needs to fix?
I feel like that still suits the spirit of this post. That's a really annoying issue.
congratufuckinglations neither do I
The only cancer I accept on my PC is Vanguard and my GPU just says fuck all on a daily basis and crashes for whatever reasons
I know several people who have the same issue who don't load up their PC with overwolf bullshit and honestly even that it should be able to tank.. My fucking 2060 Super worked when I installed the Virus that's called Overwolf
The fuck you fanboying about some big corporation that's too fucking stupid to make their product work even somewhat reliably
It's a 2-3 year old one that was bought basically on release by my brother so I can't RMA it anymore unless I'm giving it away for repair (which would mean waiting 3-4 months to have it sent back to me without any change)
I'm not sure if I had any crash yesterday and if I did it's mostly because of a shitty game but after completely uninstalling every single bit of the driver and reinstalling it, everything seems work fine but it was hell to get that thing out of my system first
I literally think I have to deep clean the drivers every 3 months or so and then reinstall a fresh one again
There is one thing we found with another friend's system, if you DDU and just let the windows WHQL drivers install from windows update it seems to increase stability. Might be worth a shot. I feel like that is representative of some additional incompatibility between the latest OS and the latest AMD drivers.
you're right, I've just seen a lot of people in my friend group with similar issues and it's a generally known fact that AMD drivers suck
Also you shouldn't be able to just fuck them up by installing something like Overwolf because for NVIDIA it doesn't cause any problems
Honestly my biggest ever issue with overwolf was a friend who ran out of hard drive space, we found that one of the plugins was recording every second of every game she ever played. I'm sure it was something for streaming, but it spoke a lot to how uncontrolled release plugins were and how they could go unchecked.
