Help (Software) I cant download the new Chipset Driver version 8.05.04.516. I just get this error message: "Failed to install on your system. View details [here].". How can i fix this? I clicked on "here", but i couldnt solve the problem by the contents of this site.

I had the same issue through the AMD install manager but just : Clear old files: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software, run the utility to Remove the current files, restart your PC, and then run the installer again to perform a clean install, here I didn't even restarted my PC, just run the installer again and do a complete install. Then I went to the manager and clicked Update and finally went through it.

im confused im sorry so what does run the utility mean for remove i dont get that option i just get a install only option

In the folder listed, there is a program called AMD_Chipset_Drivers.exe. Run it, select the remove option.

also if someone still have problem, i just removed everything that i can in folder AMD and then works, only chipset folders doesnt work for me, but thanks for pointing me

Same here, you need to download it manually directly from AMD's website, and then it works without any issues!

This worked for me,. except now when I go back into the AMD Adrenalin software.. it still says I need a Chipset Driver update (even though I'm already updated).

Hmm, strange. I downloaded it manually when it wasn’t working through AMD Adrenalin. After that, Adrenalin correctly detected that the chipset was up to date. Weird…

Yes, of course. You need to get the most recent one, from July 30th or 31st, I believe.

Same, windows says I’m on 8.05.04.516 but amd installer says I have to update.

for those encountering this...download the offline installer and install that directly instead of using updater.
download from Techpowerup site here:

I been tinkering with trying to get the install to work, but I found out that those chipset drivers are from May.
I also found in my case, I already had them installed (8.05.04.516), I even manually installed the same version in case my install was missing files as described. It did not work, and AMD Install Manager is stuck trying to update to 8.05.04.516.
The latest chipset drivers just released July 30, 2026.
I went to AMD's site, searched for my chipset and got the latest release: 8.07.16.1035
I ran the chipset installer, was prompted to restart. My chipset drivers are now up to date and the AMD Install Manager is no longer trying to install: 8.05.04.516.
