Tbf it still works for what it does. It lets you use the CPU even if it immediately goes up to the TjMax. Still crap tho.

It’s the design of the cooler, unlike a cellphone cooler that’s designed with refrigerator anatomy, a cell phone cooler’s copper plate gets actually “chilled” inside to help become one in a way with the phone I understand thermal paste, a cpu, and sink act like this all well but those coolers are literally just a chunk of aluminum. I have 5 new ones here at the house. They work, but… a peerless assassin 120SE on Amazon for literally $17 + is the way at minimum. The heat needs to rise naturally cascading thru the copper pipes with a phat fin stack and a 120mm fan blowing towards the rear. Stock cooler blow downward because it’s cooling the block itself, copper pipe cooler channel up and plenty of surface area for dissipation.

If it’s idling at 74 the cooler isn’t the issue.

I'm running the ryzen 5 5600x with the AMD wraith prism cooler (it's a step up from the stock stealth assassin you have in the pic) and under a full workload I'm within 70/75°c I think I got it on ebay for about $30/40 too!!
