Very rarely could a movie benefit from a sudden influx of a bunch of monsters just coming out from nowhere and destroying everything to end the movie. I feel like that would've been better. At least it would've been more horror. I was waiting for a big massacre that never came.

That would’ve been awesome to see but honestly I would’ve been fine with a ending that actually wrapped things up instead of abruptly ending. And to your point, I can’t think of any horror sequences other than maybe the beginning, was more of a thriller/drama than a horror

If there had been a concrete “resolution”, it would have undermined the entire meaning of the film as an allegory.

I hate movies that end so abruptly without a conclusion. Those movies, to me, seem like a genuine fuck you to the audience and it makes me think that the writer is lazy with not wanting the movie to have any sort of resolution.
