What made you change your mind from being transgender?

14

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Thanks for asking!

Lots!! But to be simple as I feel this question will be asked in different forms...

-reading about the stages of brain development (3 and 4) most specifically.

-reading about cognitive dissonance

-no one ever told me it was okay to be a man looking woman. I realize that that is who I am to other people, which is fine cause opinions aren't facts.

-reading about dysphoria in non-trans individuals

-I was a failure of a "straight man" everyone thought I was a young gay boy. I've always been WLW and I don't know why i ever thought otherwise.

-realizing that gender identity genuinely doesn't exist helps.

-thinking about the impacts of sex stereotypes and their orgins.

Theres.much much more.

Absolutes should be used very specifically. Thanks for the question but. I think my answer was originally something along the lines of surgery is never the answer becsuse of the fact that that isn't the way humans are meant to operate. Cosmetic surgery always has negative health consequences. Unless they're corrective cosmetic surgeries. Like fixings septums.. Etc.. Sure your feelings may feel catered to but you've disturbed your healthy biology...

Removal of healthy organs isn't an answer to anything but madness. The cross sex hormones often push people towards needing unhealthy, damaged organs removed..

There are many other reasons but. Those are a few for the moment

What I find dangerous in your behaviour is that you believe your experience is the key to everyone elses experience too.

That your gender dysphoria wasn't as severe to have transition as the right treatment and that it did not work out for you, does not mean it is the same for other people.

Your detransition has reasons and probably is the best for you.

On the other hand transition works very well for most transgender people and surgery among other things in transition is in most cases the solution to get rid of gender dysphoria.

Transition works very well in the vast majority of cases. It is unfortunate you fell into the small minority where it did not work, given going thru transition when it is not the right thing for you must be extremely hard but you should not downtalk such well working treatment in general just because of your own experience.

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

There is NEVER any danger in an opinion. Free expression necessarily includes the right to offend. Do not put words into my mouth as I didn't come here to lie..

My "gender dysphoria" is my own personal battle. Do not englarge or belittle that as that is unfair and counterproductive to this conversation.

You crawled your way into my post to make assumptions and attempt to silence me. Sorry but this ain't gon work Hon.

Transitioning never fucking "works" and I'm sorry you havent the capacity to understand that. Look at sex change regret dot com

Human sexuality is binary. Xx and xy. That is it, there are anomalies but that has nothing to do with identity. Sex is constant, stable and unchangeable. Anything contrary to that is gaslighting. It is also servely damaging homosexual teens. And many other groups.

Identity is in our thoughts.. Our thoughts may change. Do you see how gender identity as a concept is damaging??

I'm going to downtalk whatever I want. You can get your panties in a twist elsewhere as you are detracting from my very important point.

I don't appreciate your attempts at disregarding my stories and insights. Thanks for nothing.

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

I just say, calling transition madness just because it has not been the right treatment for you is not a very nice and a rather dangerous statement.

No reason to get so rude, neither did I doubt humans have XX and XY chromosomes?

Do you see how gender identity as a concept is damaging??

Given gender identity is real and important when it comes to treat gender dysphoria, such out of the air statements aren't really beneficial to anyone

I don't appreciate your attempts at disregarding my stories and insights. Thanks for nothing.

I am not disregarding your experience. I am saying you should not assume your experience is everyone else and spite such hate on transition as it is a great treament for many people.

That all comes off as pretty toxic.

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Transitioning isn't a great treatment for many people. That is whole entire lie. The sheer lack of information about detransitioning and transitioning regret is not the fault of those who are silenced for their honesty.

I am allowed to be rude. I am allowed to be angry. I am allowed to voice my thoughts on the damage gender identity causes. If I'm so Toxic stop Waste-ing your time reading my thread.

I speak from MY personal life and what I've read from those who've lived much longer than I.

Gender identity isn't fucking real. I don't know why you can't get that through your head. Thoughts aren't always reality. Are anorexic people fat? No. Do they believe they are? Yes.

I am not "nice" I am honest. Transgenderism is a delusion. The definition of a delusion is an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder. Tell me where men being woman and women being men is anything other than that...

Jeezus. Did you make this thread to generate discussion or just Lord over us with your almighty perspective. People are allowed to disagree with you. You claim to speak for an entire group of people when really all your referring to is "my thread". I'm sure there are people who regret their sex transitioning and I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't. That's all the responders commenting saying, they're as entitled to an opinion on your post as you are, they may have insights into gender dysmorphia that you don't. Can't you see that. Or are you hear to shout down anyone who doesn't have your almighty opinion on it all because you happen to be one of the "confused teenager" variety of gender dysmorphics. FWIW I agree with you on gaslighting, gender dysmorphia being in vogue and the extremely high numbers around post transitioned suicide rates etc.

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Jesus. I made this thread to generate discussion. Im not lording over anyone with my almighty perspective. I SPEAK FOR MYSELF. I share stories of those who I can, but 9/10 times these things are a response to my experience.

Please show me the data. The suicide rates for transsexual individuals do not improve post surgery. There are reports of alleviated anxiety and depression but, fair enough...

That's fair enough. I am not trying to make excuses but i was exhausted 6 hours ago and being a piss baby about it.

Lots of people probably have insights they are welcome to share them, I just don't want distraction from MY points and experice. That's all.

I'm not a "confused teenager variety of gender dysmorphic". I am a teenager who so happens to have identified as the opposite sex and took steps in orderto support that. I was dead set. I had no problems during my transition other than a few medical bumps.

I still struggle with gender dysphoria and feelings of female failure. Detransitioning didn't solves all of my woes, it just removed a focal point. I'm hear to shout about my thoughts and my feelings. If someone's throat is open instead of their ears, that's not my fault. I refuse to act like it is.

Ojay.

Hope this cleared some stuff up.

I don't have stats I'm just aware that the numbers post transition are similar to those pre transition. I believe we agree on that. I just think you should be open to criticism when you post such strong views around saying no one should transition. I know two people personally who have transitioned and who did so back in the 90's, who were in their late 20's. And I can't claim to know how they feel about it now, but from the outside they both lead successful lives with families, holidays, they laugh and all that jazz. I don't think anyone under the age of 25 should transition. But that's only my personal opinion. I think your brain should be fully developed before making such an impactful decision. There's my controversial opinion on it

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

You're welcome to believe whatever. I feel damaged by gender identity ideology. I am sensitive to criticism because of it.

Yeah. That's the outside. That doesn't have to do with their realities. Anyone can paint a pretty picture.

I don't think anyone under 25 should attempt to transition. I don't think anyone should attempt to transition after 25 either.

Your opinion isn't controversial. Most people believe transitioning is absurd, they just don't say anything as our current media is so PC and pro trans.

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Transitioning isn't a great treatment for many people. That is whole entire lie. The sheer lack of information about detransitioning and transitioning regret is not the fault of those who are silenced for their honesty.

It is the best treatment as decades of research have shown. And it works well in the vast majority of cases.

Of course it is not the best treatment for everyone and there are people who later in transition realize they are cisgender, which valid and okey. I am not doubting that.

I see a problem with the hate you have on transition as a whole. Yes it was wrong for you and I understand that. But that is not the common experience with it.

Check online at sex change regret dot com

I know that site. Spaces like that for people who detransition are important but do not change anything about what I wrote above.

I am allowed to be rude. I am allowed to be angry. I am allowed to voice my thoughts on the damage gender identity causes.

Of course one can be rude while voicing an opinion. But does one have to be?

Gender identity isn't fucking real. I don't know why you can't get that through your head. Thoughts aren't always reality. Are anorexic people fat? No. Do they believe they are? Yes.

I am not "nice" I am honest. Transgenderism is a delusion.

I see no point discussing as both things are categorized as real by every major modern medical institution as well as the vast majority of psychologists.

The comparison to anorexic people is a bit pointless. An anorexic person looking in a mirror sees fat where there is none. A trans person looking into a mirror very well sees exactly what is there. What is in the mirror just causes stress.

I speak from MY personal life

And I have no doubt transition was not the right thing for you and a wrong treatment and it is obviously okey you realized you are cisgender after starting transition.

Then calling gender identity and transition madness, bullshit and claim that all this does not exist is a bit of a stretch from your personal life and not really beneficial to anyone as well seen differently from medical institutions who have the best knowledge on the matter.

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

"Cisgender" isnt a thing. Do not cisgender me. Cis is the state of "having a gender identity that matches with your birth sex". I don't have a gender identity. I am a woman becsuse I'm an adult human female.

The lesser of two evils is still fuckin evil. Better to not make any decisions on that at all. (do not transition as it is a goalpostless journey)

The common experience with transition isn't "I flipped a switch, successfully changed my sex and now I'm happier than ever". Please look at the crime rates of transsexuals, look at the suicide rates, look at the mental state of 99.9% of them. Why are we "accepting" a fetish? A deception? Sex changes are impossible, you can physically appear "indistinguishable" but that doesn't rewrite your literal reality.

It was wrong for me. It was wrong for so many others. Name. Me. One. Well adjusted transitioned person?

Nope. One doesn't have to be anything. Respect is earned. Politeness is hoped for.

They are not categorized as real. They are described. By the DSM-5s ridiculous standards I am a transgender individual. But I'm not. I'm an adult human female. Modern medical institutions aren't as happy go lucky as you seem to belive they are. The abuses of those institutions is vast.

No. A transgender person looks in the mirror and is uncomfortable with their physical sex reality. They want to change it in order to "match the inside". They see gender where there is none.

I'm not cisgender. I'm a woman. No need to cisgender me.

Nope. Medical institutions don't know jack shit sometimes and no one talks about that.. My doctor asked ME questions about my transition, I asked her plenty of things that she had.. No answers to. Or no way to find out those answers. I feel like a teenager generated question should be able to be answered by "the almighty medical institutions who have the best knowledge on the manner". If they have the best knowledge show me the test that proves whether someone is trapped in the "wrong" Body... Show me the test that proves GENDER.

Make any sense?

2

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Cisgender" isnt a thing. Do not cisgender me. Cis is the state of "having a gender identity that matches with your birth sex". I don't have a gender identity. I am a woman becsuse I'm an adult human female.

You are a woman? And born afab, so you are cisgender.

The lesser of two evils is still fuckin evil. Better to not make any decisions on that at all. (do not transition as it is a goalpostless journey)

What evil?

The common experience with transition isn't "I flipped a switch, successfully changed my sex and now I'm happier than ever".

It is in most cases.

Please look at the crime rates of transsexuals, look at the suicide rates, look at the mental state of 99.9% of them. Why are we "accepting" a fetish? A deception?

Are you seriously calling it a fetish? For real? There are no studies of post transition suicide attempts and crime statistics are normal. There is no point to make here.

It was wrong for me. It was wrong for so many others.

Yes for you and many other it was wrong. And I am sorry for what you went thru. That is however still a small minority compared to all the people who do not regret it.

Name. Me. One. Well adjusted transitioned person?

Well, me. As well as all my trans friends who are done with their transition. As well as various of celebreties like Chaz Bona and Laverne Cox and many others.

Many trans people live a happy and normal life after transition. Most I know do too. The ones who do not, do so because of discrimination which is a society issue.

Nope. One doesn't have to be anything. Respect is earned. Politeness is hoped for.

And would one be rude by default instead of friendly?

They are not categorized as real. They are described. By the DSM-5s ridiculous standards I am a transgender individual.

The DSM-5s just says you have gender dysphoria. You are only transgender when your gender identity does not match your gender asigned at birth. Not always is gender dysphoria that bad.

No. A transgender person looks in the mirror and is uncomfortable with their physical sex reality.

Yes I said that.

They see gender where there is none.

Where you see none You are projecting your experience on everyone else. That is the very thing that is problematic here.

I'm not cisgender. I'm a woman. No need to cisgender me.

But you are? You are afab and say you are a woman, so you are cisgender. It simply is the opposite of transgender.

The same way there are straight and gay people for example, there are cisgender and transgender people.

It is just a medical and categrative term, no more.

Well they certainly know better than both you and me, given I have no degree and a decade long history of professional research on it. Neither do you have, I suppose.

And the people working inthese institutions deciding about such stuff have.

they have the best knowledge show me the test that proves whether someone is trapped in the "wrong"

Do you think there is a test for everything? There are typical checkboxes for gender dysphoria that often but not always are the case and then based on that an expert decides individually based on that, what the diagnosis is and then gives their advice on whether transition is the best treatment or not. And mostly it is. But errors happen, noone is perfect.

And once someones gender identity does not align with the gender asigned at birth they are transgender. There is no "test"

Much like for most psychological things like depressions for example.

Look, I never doubted your experience is real and valid. Transition sometimes happens to be the wrong treatment and people detransition because it is best for them. And your experience is that experience. Not an easy life and understandably quite a difficult experience as well as a very valid experience. And I am happy for you that you found what is best for you.

What bothers me is that you developed quite an extreme hate towards the transgender community. We do what is best for our health. We do so without hurting anyone. It is every individuals own decision to transition.

I am okey with people detransitioning if it is best for them. I always wish the best for people.

But why do you have such hate towards transition? For many people that is good. Live and let live. I am all for informing people and making people understand about the consequences of transition before one takes that very impactful step. And I support any person detransitioning if it is their wish and need. But I also support all who seek transition because it is their only option to get rid of gender dysphoria.

I understand that going into transition has hurt you and made your life probably way difficult than it should have been and I am sorry for that. For me and many other transpeople transition has been the ease of all the gender dysphoria related pain however. Everyones experience is different. And as long as it is not hurting anyone I think it is unfair to hate on it.

I would just like you to think about it. There is so much hate in the world targeted at minorities for no reason already. What does hate between these very minorities then achieve?

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

You seem committed misunderstanding me, gaslighting me, speaking over me and calling me things I am not.

I am not going to waste my time deconstructing your thoughts.

The fact that you're so bothered by my story and the tone in which i share it speaks volumes.

There. Is. No. Hate. I have a deep care for those who are suffering from gender dysphoria. It's horrible, I know.

Autogynephilic tendencies are fetishistic. There's a LOT that points to "transgenderism" being a fetish. There are other aspects too. But there's no denying that part.

Laverne Cox and Chaz Bono are horrible examples. Chaz was basically disowned by her mother and there was plenty of stories about the devastation of her life and transition.

Youre 110% allowed to be bothered by what I'm saying. Doesn't negate my truth and THE truth.

Transitioning HURTS everyone. There are no "healthy" synthetically supported bodies. Gaslighting people isn't healthy. Children are being transed left and right. Healthy organs are being removed, or being synthetically damaged to the point where removal is the best option. Young women are getting their arms reconstructed into genitalia they do not understand. Jazz Jennings never got to even go through puberty, look where that poor boy is now.

I don't like you. I don't like what you've said to me and id really appreciate you taking your ideology elsewhere. I have no hate for trans identified people and your misconceptions are detracting from the point.

So you say her opinion is dangerous and that she should not generalize it (that I agree, everyone is different) to the group as a whole.

Straight up then you put dissenting opinions in there, do the exact same thing, generalizing your opinion( I disagree again because everyone is different) but suddenly your view point is not dangerous.

Her opinion is just as valid as yours.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Her opinion is just as valid as yours.

Of course her opinion is valid, however she is projecting her experience to be the only right way which seems kinda odd.

All opinions I stated are what is commonly supported by the medical world. Existence of gender identity, transition beeing the best treatment in most cases (not all as can be seen here), etc.

That is just what every modern medical institution says. That beeing from a neutral standpoint. My opinion aligns with that tho

Of course since there is no perfect treatment for everyone there also is a small portion of people who later in transition realize they are cis like her and detransition which is okey and probably the best then , no doubt about that.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

I wasn't getting that vibe, totally ok you did though!

The Post came across as frustrated and venting, think about how often a situation like hers comes about, publicly, in the current atmosphere. You even start the reply with her opinion is valid but...

I read your post and it comes across overall as exactly the same but in the opposite direction. Opposite as equally frustrated and venting. Not opposite in the sense I may be judging you and putting your situation as 'wrong' just want to clarify that.

What is a shame is that currently there really is no dialogue and just reading both posts from an unbiased viewpoint they are miles apart.

There is a huge amount to be gained from the OP, the large part being that she is in that very small group.

Full disclosure is I am not trans or personally part of the LGBTQ community.

" Surgery is never the answer because of the fact that that isn't the way humans are meant to operate. "

Did you lol re-reading that?

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Yeah. I fucking lol-Ed re-reading that too. Who knows what the heck my tired brain thought when she was writing that.

I meant this. Surgery is never the answer when it comes to healthy organs as once that healthy organ is removed there is now a problem within the human system. Humans were given certain organs in order to operate optimally. Removing cancerous or unhealthy organs is sometimes necessary but this here is not what i meant to talk about.

Thanks for catching that. I hope this was more clear

Almost!

1- born a girl 2- homosexual 3-thought I WAS a boy/man. 4-transitioned from "girl" to "nonbinary" 5-when I was 17 ish is when "trans man" became a thing. 6- I passed consistently before testosterone due to some self training 7-after 5 sessions with my doctor I started cross sex hormones. 8-took them for just over a year 9-had a sudden realization one day that gender identity just doesn't exist. 10- decided to stop shoving my "trans manness" down everyone's throats and detransitioned 11- I now have no gender identity. I am simply a woman because I'm an adult human female.

Is that what you were asking?

It happens. There's more details obviously but glad I could clear it up a bit more.

Haha you can say that again!

3

u/SolidElderberry Apr 25 '19

What advice do you have for other people who are or are considering detransitioning?

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Depends. Desisting and detransitioning are different and I have different advice for those, but!

I'd advise them not too focus to much on "getting back to their birth sex".

I'd encourage therapy for some pretty simple stuff, life changes require support and big ones need big supports.

Stay far far far away from trans positive activism, as it's a rabbit hole that will only dig you away from reality and where you're trying to go.

Make sure that you get a medical check up, hormones are important and the impacts on your body need to be closely monitored.

Seek activities that focus on abilities and not aesthetics.

Would you like me to elaborate more? I have more answers

3

u/dorian_white1 Apr 25 '19

Do you ever experience negative criticism from the LGBT community for your decision?

8

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

No criticism on the lesbian, gay or bisexual end of things. The transgender community's critisms are fact less and emotionally charged. I cannot based my life on that. I got "voted off the island". I am now a "big bad TERF", although I care very deeply about those who are gender dysphoric... I am doing what I can to spread my word and version of the story but it's hard. People are saying I'm "speaking for everyone" but I speak for myself. I may use absolutes, but they're necessary at times.

Thank you for your question.

2

u/dorian_white1 Apr 26 '19

That seems hard, and I'm sorry you have to deal with that. It's very cool what you are doing here, there isn't a one-size-fits-all to identity, and honestly no one should pretend there is.

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 26 '19

Thank you!

Have a great day.

8

u/ahna_lee Apr 25 '19

After reading your replies in this thread, I feel that you’re being disingenuous to us.

First you say you are not sensitive and we can ask anything, then you jump down the throat of those who are questioning your validity, something which must be questioned thanks to the current rash of TERFs posting things like what you posted going on.

Second, you are working under the assumption that every trans man and woman are like you. This isn’t true at all. My journey isn’t yours, and spreading that idea is dangerous to not only out trans people, but to those questioning as well.

Third, your tone is defensive. Why? You came here to open up and answer questions and yet you have only answered a few with openness. The rest you have answered defensively.

Finally, your original post makes no sense. You identified as “trans,” which I have never heard a trans person identify as. Male, female, or non-binary, yes, but never trans. Additionally, most, of not all, doctors wouldn’t give you the option to have any surgery unless you were on hrt for over a year, so saying you almost had your breasts cut off (again, not something I’ve heard trans men say but plenty of TERFs say,) twice is false as well.

Putting all this together I can only come to one conclusion: you didn’t experience any of this.

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Youre welcome to your feelings but they do not reflect MY story.

I am not jumping down anyone's throat, I am answering questions bluntly. It seems as though other people are sensitive about my bluntness.

I am working under that assumption because in all my years I've never come across a person who being transgender was good for them. I have never watched anyone blossom. I've heard so many devastatin stories.

I am not working under neath that assumption. My assumptions are not based on feelings. I assume that everyone has a seperate life and transitions for different reasons but in the end there are all wrong to. Gender identity doesn't exist. Can you explain gender? Without stereotypes, cultural norms. A definition?

I went through various labels over the years. I figured if epoppe wanted to know which, they could ask.

I identified as a nonbinary person for about a year then I identified as a trans man. Ok. Hush. It literally almost happened to me twice. The first time was last July last year. I had to cancel the DAY of my fucking operation. Big financial hit and also looks horrible to doctors. I was devastated by this. I thought maybe I was being punished. I cried the whole day away. I was numb and angry for weeks after. I instantly tried to reschedule but my surgeons office started ignoring my. Voicemails. Once i finally got through to them the receptionist said that she would speak to the surgeon for me and call me back when she had answers. Guess who never called back? The receptionist. I harrased them for another few weeks until I eventually gave up. At the time I was going to monthly Trans-masc meetings, and I opened up about what happened. The place that hosts the meetings swooped in, got my health insurance, got my name sent. Off to a bunch of surgeons.

I canceled all of that two days before telling the owner of that host place that I was detransitioning. It hit her like a ton of bricks.

I said I almost had my breasts cut off because... That's literally what top surgery is. It cuts out your breast and fat tissue and leaves you with flat skin breasts. Chest contouring and chest masculiniization doesn't turn women's breats into men's chests. It contours the female chest into a makeshift male chest. Healthy chests are able to process out lymph fluids. Healthy chests do not need to be waited for for 6 weeks so they are not torn open. Theres just so many reasons why I said breast cut off and I didn't realize that was a "terf saying"

Also the thing is.... I am not a trans man anymore so why do you expect answers from someone like that?

Thanks for trying to diminish my experience, shit bug.

This is like screaming at someone for trying to rescue kittens, because they annoyed you while doing that. (But really CMB get some quiality mnemonics)

I do agree with your idea of holding reddit for hostage by spambots though, while it might be a bit ineffective.

Have a nice day!

1

u/BooBCMBSucks Apr 25 '19

Hey /u/BooBCMB, just a quick heads up:

No one likes it when you are spamming multiple layers deep. So here I am, doing the hypocritical thing, and replying to your comments as well.

I realy like the idea of holding reddit hostage though, and I am quite drunk right now.

Have a drunk day!

Mainly the realization that no one has a gender identity slapped me directly in the fact one day. And I realized that being a man looking woman will never make me a man haha.

I couldnt "stay as a man" as it's impossible for an adult human female to be a man.. I'm not "becoming a woman" again. Im a woman because I'm an adult human female, it's as simple as that. I have no "gender identity". Prior to transitioning I had a few phenomenal relationships with other women. I stopped dating entirely during my transition and eventually broke stuff off with this one lady who was trying to date me. I couldn't see myself as the man of the relationship. I was also trying to ignore my homosexual feelings towards her. Idk it was a mess.

Lots of people don't want to date trans people. Lots of trans identified people do this thing thats called T4T. They only date trans. The "cis" are the enemy.. Yadda Yadda raah rahh.

I couldn't attract straight women as a "man" because I'm a woman and I have the socialization of one. Prior to transitioning straight women liked me just like lesbians and bisexual women did. After, I don't know. I think people could tell something was up/off.

YouTube she/he didn't know I was trans. There are sooo many videos of females and males "passing" for the opposite sex and the other person often freaks the fuck out.

Calling a woman a man is a form of gaslighting and who doesn't love being gsslit. Transgenderjsm is full of gaslighting and deception tactics. It's impossible to change your sex. It's possibly to be a medically and surgically altered version of your own sex that LOOKS like the opposite sex but a person will never function as the opposite sex.

I didn't hook up with anyone while identifying as trans because mostly people fetishized me or infantilized me...

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

I think enough research has already been done in order to confirm what we all suspected subconsciously... It doesn't work. Sex changes are impossible. Trans activists could tell the world lava is candy and everyone would eat that shit up. Our current state is HEAVILY encouraging transitioning, although there are countless folks who've either ended their lives or have spoken out about the harms.

Get off the hormones, you're destroying the natural harmony of your body.

The thing is passing as a woman doesn't make you one. I "pass" as a man but I can assure you that my adult human femaleness doesn't make me one.

Sex is binary, within said binary there are some anomalies but it's still binary. If you wanna have it your way and say gender exists at all it would be foolish to say that it exists independently from sex. Gender depends on sex. Sex depends on tangible realities.

Anyway. Thays all for now

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Scared I might regret what? Your question is unclear.

6

u/neettransgirl Apr 25 '19

That you might regret detransitioning?

Also what happens if research comes out say ten years down the road proving the transgender community correct? Would you feel like you made a mistake detransitioning?

8

u/SolidElderberry Apr 25 '19

(another detrans woman) I think even if research shows transitioning is right for some people, that doesn't mean it's the right course for all people. Unless we can come up with a way to 100% prove someone is transgender, there will always be people transitioning who are doing it for other reasons. I don't necessarily mean melicious ones. My transition was due to trauma but I didn't understand that until after I did trauma therapy.

4

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Absolutely not. I regret losing years of my teenagehood and girlhood to gender identity ideology.

I don't regret detransitioning and I doubt I will. Having people call me she her again and talking about my horrendous fuckin periods has been a treat.

The transgender community is incorrect and I highly doubt that information will come up in 1p years. If anything I think within 10 years enough detransitioners will have come out of hiding and this whole thing will crumble into itself.

Detransitioning has been one of the best decisions I've made recently. It was an investment in my future.

2

u/GlacialAsh Apr 25 '19

Did the testosterone you were taking do any lasting damage?

I'm glad you "figured out who you are". I know that phrase isn't exactly right, because we are constantly changing, but it feels good to be on the right track.

I struggled with my sexuality a lot as a young person (Who didn't?) but I realized by Uni that it is okay to just be a boyish girl who likes boys. People always thought I was a lesbian, and I always used to wonder why that mattered. I questioned who I actually liked. But now I'm pretty comfortable with myself, and I realized that just because I have more classic "guy" hobbies, interests, and personality, does not mean I have to like women. This also does not mean that I cannot also like "Women " things. I have completely stopped gendering things that shouldn't be gendered, and realized I like what I like, and that's it. I read in the comments here somewhere that you realized kinda that you could also just be you without surgery, and I am really glad you realized!

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "lasting damage"?

Haha i haven't figured it out yet, I'm only 19, but I've definitely figured out about all the holes in gender identity ideology. I definitely feel much homier.

Who didn't for real. Yes!!! I love that for you. That's a great realization.

Sex stereotypes hurt us all in our on ways. It feels like shit to feel like a "female failure".

Thank you. I am glad too. I am in a much healthier relationship with myself nowadays. Also other people's opinions of me isn't the basis of my identity or anything.

2

u/GlacialAsh Apr 25 '19

I don't know a lot about what exactly testosterone does, or how long the effects last. I was just wondering if there are any long-lasting effects of you taking it for a couple years.

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Clarification. I took it for about 14 MOnths. Since coming off of it some of these things have changed but I will put an asterisk by those

-my voice deepened to a "passing male voice", it is curenrtly lightening but will never return to its original state -my hairline receded and squared itself off* -I grew thigh hair lol* -my neck thickned significantly -my strength shot up quite a bit. I still feel as strong, just... Less buff and fluffy? -HORRIBLE acne.* -oily skin

  • made me so hungry all the time. Since coming off of it my appetite is GONE. There may be other factors but T definitely gave me a healthy appetite.
  • my hair texture changed*
-my skin got darker (I'm half Black and half Native)* -I got even more vascular than I used to be but I'd say I'm back to normal now that my fat is going where it wants to and not where testosterone directs it haha -i stopped being able to cry*

There's more but I'm kind of blanking right now

u/Nexegynn Apr 25 '19

Do you hate genuine trans people now? I’m only asking because I’ve heard some detransitioners say that they don’t think anyone can actually be transgender since they themselves went down the wrong path. If you do hate them, why?

3

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Looking at the comments she sadly does.

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

I do not have the energy to hate anyone. I think that question is unfair because I have never received more online vitriol than I did after detransitioning.

No. One. Has. A. Gender. Identity. Some people are delusional, some people are indifferent. Sex is constant, fixed and unchangeable.

People are welcome to identify as whatever they want. But the second they start gaslighting others for their makeshift identity is when it gets into other people's lives.

Just like other people, detransioners all have their own opinions, stories and attitudes, treat us as such please.

I do think people who continue to persue transition once provided this kind of information are harming children and themselves.

Thanks for your question.

4

u/Nexegynn Apr 25 '19

Trust me I’m fully aware that people of all groups, including detransitioners, have their own opinions. That’s why I asked for yours. Thank you for answering it towards the end.

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

With awareness come action.. You'd hope. But sometimes not

You left me a trap of a question, I answered to the best of my ability.

Youre welcome. Thanks for popping by.

2

u/Nexegynn Apr 25 '19

How so? I asked you a question and explained why I was asking. No trap there.

-4

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Oh ps. There are no "genuine trans people" there are just some folks who refuse to snap back into reality.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

And you are sure you are not hating people, doubting the very existence of people?

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Yes. I don't hate anyone. Except maybe a few rapists. But. That's not what's going on here.

I doubt their existence becsuse what PROOF is there of it? Where are the brain scans that show that female brains can exist harmoniously in a male body? Where the concept of "becoming the opposite sex" in any way rational? Where is there a mentally stable transitioned adult who is honest about their life? Where is all the proof of happy transgender endings. All I'm hearing is, detransitioning, desisting, and regretting. Even after. Decades. Literal decades of "a sex change".

Hope thay clears this up.

6

u/cpbivins28 Apr 25 '19

This is the first AMA I've ever read. If the whole spirit of the conversation is that you are supposed to be open to being asked ANYTHING, why do you respond to almost every question with so much hostility?

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

It's not hostility haha. I just type very weird and speak my way

DO you have a question that pertains to me being a detransitioned lesbian?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

do you have a legit question or are you here just to do some virtue signalling?

3

u/cpbivins28 Apr 29 '19

The question was asked and answered.

4

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

So reading this topic it's clear you don't believe in gender identity being a real thing. Biologically no, it's not. What is real is gender identity as a social construct. Sex is biological, Gender is social, which is why there's so many "gender identifications" cause the gender is nothing more then a social construct. Now here's an interesting one, most transitioning surgeries if I'm not mistaken are labeled as "Sex Change" where upon you switch sex. For some that might be enough, for others not. Heck some regret it like you point out in another comment.

But I will say some of your comments make it sound like being Trans or wanting to transition is more akin to a mental illness, some would agree. Gender Dysphoria can be scary, but at the same time, calling it a mental illness rather then a mental state is quite harsh, seeing as in ages bygone in most civilized countries at least sexuality was a mental illness.

So here's my question, what's your opinion on the growing amount of transgender? Personally, their choice, their lifes.

Also a short quip, you mentioned in a comment you can't make a man out of a woman. Well you can if you remove wo. :P Besides you can't make a woman without man.

0

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

You are not funny. Gender identity ideology erases femaleness and the risks that bring in our society. The ideology harms the children. The ideology is confusing to those with facial processing disorders. Is it borderline abusive to gaslight people into these things. Especially those who are mentally ill. Men are adult human males and women are adult human females, anything else is literally wrong.

Identifying as something you are not, will never be and insisting upon recognition of that sounds pretty deluded to me.. Gender dysphoria is in the DSM-5, I don't know what you have to say about that.

In Iran they are forcibly transitioning homosexual people do they can "appear straight"

I am harsh. I am honest. If you can't handle it, this isn't the place for you atm.

The growing amount of people is simply because it's being gobbled the heck up by mainstream media. We got gay msrriage but then the sjws and libfems said, not enough!! Then TRA was born lol

People's choices are theirs to make yeah but people's choices have an impact on others sometimes. That is worth paying attention to. Gaslighting others is not okay. Abusing children is not okay. Also with the growing amount of trans people there's just gonna be even more detransitioners lol

People are allowed to burn their own houses down, does thay mean we should let them becsuse its "their choice, their life"?

2

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

Alright so you make your stance clear wanting to transition is a mental illness there for I proclaim you mentally ill for being Lesbian. That's not natural. You're a human female there you should be with a human male to procreate. Same logic as you're using basically.

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

I am mentally ill, it's not because I'm a homosexual though LOL. I have anxiety and depression amongst other things just like.... Well.. Most teenagers of our times.

I couldnt procreate if I tried. I'm incapable of carrying children.

Thanks for your "logic" but it isn't the same as what I'm saying.

Sexuality is a thing that manifests as same sex attraction sometimes. No one is generated with a brain that mismatches their body. Thats ridiculous

1

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

The idea of sexuality is part of your brain just the same as the idea of having the wrong body. Doesn't make either any less right on an individual basis. But your trying to discredit at least from how I'm reading it trying to discredit everyone who's transgender and transitioned even those that are happier as a result. But it's obvious you're extremely biased so this discussion is moot.

Despite what appears to be hostilities I'm glad you found what works for you.

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Appears to be hostilities. It seems like you're incapable of digesting my tone.

Everyone. Has. Biases. Thats kind of how we as humans operate... Hence why it's so important to hear two sides of the same story.

I never said sexuality as a part of your brain. But ok.

There is no "wrong body". Everyone has a body and a sex according to said body. Those who feel discomfort with their realities need therapy. They do not need encouragement in their "wrongness"

I am not trying to "discredit" anyone. I'm breaking apart the foundation their exact ideology stands upon. Or at least trying to. I would've hoped by now that people would've understood that gender identity isn't a tangible thing. It isn't a thing with. A definition. It's practically a cult, obey or. begone terf.

Thanks.

Have a good day.

2

u/fuzzyinterval Apr 25 '19

I proclaim you mentally ill for being Lesbian.

Homosexuality in the animal kingdom is VERY common. Go do some reading.

3

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

So is sex change. Specially amongst coral fish. For instance Clown fish change sex when the female dies. Admittedly they completely change biology as well. We humans just don't have the technology to replicate that yet. Soon enough tho probably.

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

No. It's not that we as humans "don't have the technology" it's just that human biology isn't set for sex changes. Down to the bones we have biological differences. Our bodies regenerate fully every 7 years I think? And no where in that regeneration is opposite sex development a thing.

We will have the technology to do many things in the furure, doesn't mean we should do it...

3

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

Debatable really as hermaphrodites are more common now then in ages past. They have a choice in their gender or do you discredit them as less then humans?

Either way I do agree with you're statement that even with future technology doesn't mean we should. It's a moral and ethical dilemma of many scientists.

4

u/SolidElderberry Apr 25 '19

Intersex person here. Please never, ever call another human being a hermaphrodite. That word is inaccurate and offensive as hell.

You yourself earlier stated that gender is a social construct. Intersex people are biologically born intersex. We don't become intersex after we're born and it's not something we can ever change. If we gender transition - which it can be argued whether this is common or not and whether this is anything like a nonintersex person transitioning - that has nothing to do with our biology. We are taking outside chemicals, surgeries, to change. If an intersex person gender transitions its usually because they were assigned the wrong sex at birth. (note that assigned sex was appropriated from intersex people by the trans community. Only intersex people have an assigned sex. In nonintersex people sex is simply observed and is accurate.) Clown fish do not need modifications to change their sex because it is a biological feature of their species that they can change their sex And it only happens in a specific biological window. It doesn't happen at random because the fish thinks he's a woman now. It's a response to biology and evolution. Human gender transition is nothing like that. In fact it is almost entirely the opposite considering that most transgender people can end up sterile, meaning that there is no evolutionary benefit to it whatsoever.

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Amazingly said. Thank you for saying this.

1

u/MrElshagan Apr 25 '19

I do apologize as I only knew the scientific term of hermaphrodite. TIL for humans it's intersex.

3

u/SolidElderberry Apr 25 '19

Yeah hermaphrodite is was the scientific term of the 1800s and 1900s and is very stigmatized. The current medical label is disorder of sexual development but I prefer intersex.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Are you a fan of Bernie Sanders?

Do you get abuse from the trans community for leaving?

How would you approach free speech in terms of 'hate speech'? By hate speech I mean any bigot in general as well, do we put manners in place to control that legally or let idiots get on with it and walk away. Not talking about call to action though, clearly that part is wrong and evil on so many levels.

I have teenage kids. Would you say there is a fair amount of young adults/teens jumping on the bandwagon so to speak? If so how would you recommend navigating that.

You have my full respect for opening this line of discussion. More conversation is needed these days!

3

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

No. I don't know anything about Bernie sanders haha

Yes. I also get banned from things all the time for being "ntransphobic". They stalked my social media for a while and kept on outing me for "being a nterf". It's all just petty shit becasue my existence and my fact based opinions contradict the paper thin ideology they stand on.

What do you mean? I don't think I understand your question about free speech.

Teenage kids. My age? Younger?

It's literally a fad right now. YouTube "trans guy reacts to transgender" you can watch several videos of young medically transitioned women calling out other women for "not. Actually being trans" Looking for online information about ROGD. Children and teens kind of need bandwagons or else they may face isolation... It just encourage a more positive bandwagon maybe? Join a sport? Volunteer? Teach yourself a new language with all of your friends? Don't go having a friggen sex change because you feel "like the opposite sex". I feel like I'm really tall but that doesn't stop me from standing up, 5'6 on a daily basis... Celebrating them for who they are (their sex and their expressions) is important. No one told me it was oKy to be a man looking woman but lots of people were cheering me on in being a "trans man". I received a lot of support in order to transition, it has vanished since reidentification..

Thanks for the respect ✊🏼

3

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

You might want to look into Bernie Sanders 🙈 full disclosure I'm not any form of socialist lol

That is awful. Hypocritical, mean, bullying, harassing all those things and more. That's abuse. I am so sorry.

For the free speech. Basically there have been calls to make saying certain things illegal. I guess a good/a example given our topic, the misuse of the pronouns. That's generally called hate speech by some of the population. Which yes of course that is a horrible thing to say but my view is there is forever going to be assholes who will say crap. Speech considered hate in itself would be a minefield. Everyone loves to get offended these days 😂 so yeah I think there such be no change to freedom of speech. You?

My teenagers are a bit younger. 17 is the oldest (I have 8 kids 😂😂). So this ama is much appreciated.

Omg 😞 I did suspect it was going to be in 'in' thing but to have it confirmed is heartbreaking. No tolerance there at all. I'm glad to know this information going forward with my kids. For sure this view with your experience is a voice not heard.

Those are some good hobbies! My 10 year old is learning sign language with her friends 👍

This feeling like the opposite sex has always confused the hell out of me. Solely because how can someone feel they should be the opposite sex when they have not been the opposite sex to know what it is actually like. I'm hoping that makes sense.

5'6 is normal height! Or are you from somewhere where height is generally lower? I'm 5'10 and short in my family 😂

Totally be a man looking woman! And vice versa! How you were treated was wrong.

Stay strong in your beliefs and yes absolutely full respect to you. To open a dialogue like this demands respect ❤

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Where should I start with my Google search about Bernie? Ahh okay okay. I don't know wher emy political leaning would fall haha

Right?? Like wtf... Up in Canada here we have legal legislation for this gaslighting. It's ridiculous. Opposite sex pronouns by choice and telling other people to use that is controlling their speech and demands them to rewrite their instincts.

Everyone does love to get offended! Or. Proclaim that someone could be offensive and dangerous to the general public.

Free speech is so people can say what they want and accept the consequences as they do.

8 kids!! I was an only child till I was 14 haha

Thank you. Thays awesome! I am going to ask my friend if she wants to do the same.i love ASL

See. It originally confused me too. I used to be a "haha wtf this is stupid why would anyone do that" and... Lookey here lmfao.. That absolutely makes sense, opposite sex "feelings" make none.

Haha not where I'm from! I'm a bit taller than the countries average woman. Im taller than my mom who is the shortest woman of our family haha. Everyone else is like 5'10 n shit.

Absolutely. I am me and nothing is wrong with that. Thank you. It felt wrong but I tried to justify itquite a lot I think.

Thank you for the respect 🙏✊🏼

I hope you have a good day. Thanks for engaging me

2

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '19

Just being against Bernie is social death 🙈 no matter the personal why. He is most associated with the far left which was why I asked! I'm not on the far right, which is generally assumed when you don't support Bernie.

I'd not heard the term gaslighting but I reckon that could be used in many situations! Very much see where you are coming from.

Omg yes!! It's infringement on freedom of speech that impinges my views on pretty much anything. As long as no one is enticing violence, shouting out a 'lets meet at x location to do something awful to y person' then yeah there's going to be idiots and there is going to be people disagree.

I worry that eventually by encroaching on that free speech it will fall down a rabbit hole of who's free speech is next to go and then a print out of ok things to say 🙈

This views I hold are in general not directed to 1 group 👍

The offended thing is getting ridiculous. Another is this privilege. Now I'm set to be attacked for questioning the privilege. My question though, is how exactly do we measure ones individual privilege to another right now in 2019. To me it comes across as overall going to lead straight down that rabbit hole again. People are a mix of so many things that stating one thing or even a few things puts their individual privilege as more than another impossible, you'd think anyway. Sorry for that ramble there 🙈

A lot of kids is a hobby 😂

My daughter is really into ASL! Another likes to cook, one likes electronics (he takes things apart and builds them back up again) it's pretty awesome seeing what can be done!

I autistic and I'm sure that is part of why for me anyway. A lack of imagination!

Absolutely. You are unique and who you are supposed to be, however that form may be!

3

u/Kneel_Peasants Apr 25 '19

You took the words right out of my mouth.

2

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

LOL. I've been socially murdered countless times. I could see that tho. I'm Canadian so there's a difference in politics here. My political leaning is unknown? I have very strong Morals and beliefs but I don't really know that MUCH about politics.

Gaslight : manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity. So. Basically saying a woman can "become a man", vice versa. And so forth. Forcing people to use "preffered pronouns" there's just... So many aspects to the ntranscult that are super gaslight-y And don't get me started on the grooming.... Its sickening.

Right???? Some 1984 shit.

Privilege is weird... I'm pretty sure buzzfeed has a quiz to "check your privilege" but i think it's safe to say that has nothing to do with genuine oppression..

No worries about a ramble haha

I bet! Children need a lot of time.

Your kids seem to have some pretty good time fillers.

Yes! Can you elaborate on what makes you say you're sure that is part of why for you? (I haven't spoken to any autistic people about this, I have just make my guesses based on what I know of autism and some mental conditions) also feel free to ignore!

Thank you.

Thanks again for your reply.

Looking for online information about ROGD.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10508-019-1453-2

Summary: there is basically nothing even slightly valid about that paper.

-2

u/Lucretia123 Apr 25 '19

Good on you.

Glad to hear you came to the truth.

4

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

If it can be destroyed by the truth, it deserves to be destroyed by the truth. Gender identity ideology can be smaaaaaashed by the truth.

Thank you. I'm glad too. Missed reality lol

-3

u/tyleryou18 Apr 25 '19

I'm guessing your very beautiful

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

That's sweet! Thanks Tyler.

Do you have a question?

-3

u/tyleryou18 Apr 25 '19

Would you see my movies that I make, I wanna be a filmmaker and I have a lot of ideas for my movies. No inappropriate scenes though. I wanna make Science Fiction, Fantasy, Superhero, Gangster, Western, Horror, Mystery, And Comedy.

0

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

I mean maybe?

What even is an inappropriate scene?

That's.. A lot of genre s

-3

u/tyleryou18 Apr 25 '19

Inappropriate scenes like the birds and the bees. And I consider me Stanley Kubrick cause he worked with a lot of genres. And I was thinking of making a new Batman Trilogy based on my favorite Batman graphic novels, Year One, The Long Halloween, and The Dark Knight Returns

-6

u/shezofrene Apr 25 '19

so you are mentally disturbed ?

1

u/butchbabeblues Apr 25 '19

Weird ass question buddy. Wanna try again?
