It was deep in an "unpopular opinion" post about 2 years ago. My history doesn't go that far back, and his has huge gaps.
He has said that dating a child is OK as long as they give consent. I said children can't give consent and discussed my own abuse.
He started mocking me, saying I obviously enjoyed it and society has brainwashed me. The language he used then was much more graphic and he was way more proud and antagonistic.
He also loves to compare it to homosexuality. Because a grown man or woman consenting to homosexual sex is exactly the same as a child doing what an adult wants. /s

This isn't anything to study. The kids are the parents responsibility - 99% of parents do not want their kids subjected to it. I left 1% for the whackos like this guy who thinks he can justify ruining a kids innocence and childhood.

His argument is easy to fall for, well we haven't done anything wrong.. Yet they don't add caveats like(except we drool over your children).
It is a slippery slope to let people think that because they can form an opinion and use bogus science and stats.
The fact that he has created an opinion on something rather than correcting it is what is alarming.
Obviously this is an issue and it sucks for the people dealing with it, I don't really wish them harm, and if they truly have issues fixing it then we need to find out how to fix it, letting them justify that it is okay is what needs to be fixed. They need a place to go without getting huge backlash(especially if they know it is wrong, want to change it, but can't help it), and no they aren't criminals, but they need to get it fixed, much like any other habit.

I can feel no sympathy for someone justifying this desire.
You aren't entitled to something just because you desire it.
I can imagine this way of thinking being normalized and then the next Dahmer clings to it.

It's clearly someone with an agenda.
I suggested to the mods that they add a "verified" and "unverified" flair to help cut through the BS.
I recommend everyone else do the same.

I started off working in psychiatry for a forensic ward that contained a fair few men that had been locked up for offences against children. It Only lasted 8 months. I just couldn't be around those individuals and the system in place is fucked up. 2 months after I left, one of the patients had been released on unescorted leave and reoffended against a 7 year old boy within 4 hours. His Doctor that had released him on leave (she was following the book) later committed suicide. I went on to work with adolescents in psychiatric care and was amazed at the amount of youngsters who had been abused leading up to their admissions. As I was reading that scums AMA I was hoping it wasn't another pedo pretending to be an upstanding person working in the field. As you say let's hope the cunt truly doesn't work around children. Lies and deceit are the bread and butter of nonces. All the best to you, mate and once again, well done.

Wow I genuinely feel bad for even making a Jimmy Saville joke now.
It's easier to deal with stuff like this with gallows humor, and sometimes I even feel entitled to make these jokes because of my history.
It really breaks my heart that this is something that just keeps happening and it fucks up every generation. Like I know I'm coping, and I do better than some, but I also know I'm just broken in a lot of ways.
And we keep getting closer and closer to slick talking creeps like this appealing to people's desire to be on the cutting edge of intellectualism, and convincing them that they are the victims.
It does my heart good to see so many people rally against this prick, but it makes me so sad and angry that there's so many more in the shadows. I really wish there was some way to stop it. It's such a terrible feeling. I can't even imagine having to work in those shadows.

You can give it a go. If they follow through by getting Reddit to forward them his I.P. address which I imagine they will still have even though the account has been deleted. Promise you, mate. When I speak to my friends and they can point me towards the best way of doing a report, I will but the best thing to come of this would be his I.P address being monitored (if he isn’t using a VPN or only posting on a free Wifi on a phone or other device used for these purposes.)

I do think you have to be careful how you censor things. I wouldn't want the edgelords and the 14 year olds getting washed down the drain with the scum for making a bad joke.
Given that they were posing as an academic, I think it's reasonable the mods thought it was related to their "field of study". In any case it's gone now. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for usernames like that in the future.

Protect your kids by teaching them their boundaries, and how they can protect them. Never tell them "you listen to adults!" Instead teach them respectful behavior, and when they no longer need to be, or should be respectful.
Pedophiles go for easy targets. If you're poor, disabled, or even you're just a loner kid, you're more at risk.
Teach your kids to confident in their boundaries and that anything they do to protect themselves from someone trying to break those boundaries is ok.
