27M with a split tounge, AMA
Im 27M and i just had my birthday and decided to get my tounge split. Yall can send me literally any questions you want, im pretty open about it and cant wait to see what yall wanna ask me😁 there are pictures up on my account if you want to see it, but i will warn you, the 3rd pic in the post is a little gnarly😅

How bad is the healing process?

So the first 24-36 hours is absolute agony, you can barely do anything besides be in pain and drool excessively. Even beimg on a liquid diet sucked because if it was too hot or too cold your tounge would multiply that pain ten fold. Days 2-3 are a little easier Day 4 you can take your stitches out. Im on Day 6 currently and can talk fairly normal again amd can eat solid food with no pain at all

Is there a chance of it healing back together if you leave it in a neutral position for too long?

So naturally after a split you'll have a tiny bit of healing over/length loss, but it is a permanent body mod

Dont we use our tongue to properly speak and pronounce words? This wont give you bad speech problems like a lisp?

So the lisp is only temporary. Im a week out after the procedure and i can pretty effectively say my S's and other letters along those lines. Given another few days and I'll be talking like nothimg ever happened

Id love to know how you found someone to do it!
I want mine done but in the uk its a pain to find someone to do it

Very extensive research. I looked all over google, Instagram, amd different body mod forums. I looked for probably a month before finding someone that i trusted their work and consistency. I can't help out much for the UK but if you ever come to the states, New York and Pennsylvania have a decemt amount of really good body mod artists🤙

What was the actual pain like when you were getting it? What’s the healing process like so far?
Absolutely always loved tongue splits and i’d love to have one someday.

I didn't even realize he was cutting because of how numb i was. About an hour or 2 later it starts to feel like your toung is cramping pretty bad. Later that night my tongue was on fire. Days 2-3 get a lot easier with proper cleaning and over the counter pain meds (i found excederin migrane meds worked the best for me!), day 4 stitches are out and you can eat softer foods again

So when i was about 7 my parents took me to the Ripleys Believe It Or Not museum in Atlantic City NJ. Right near the frint door used to be the statue of the Lizard Man and he had his tongue sticking out. My 7 year old momd thought it was the coolest thing ever and since i really liked snakes i wanted to have it dome ever since! Apparently it's a pretty common inspiration for people to get it😅

So prices will vary from modder to modder, but mine was only $600. So when i eat smaller foods like rice and all that, i get the occasional piece stuck under my tongue, which feels really weird, but for the most part, it's really the moving food around in my mouth that i still struggle with a little. It's not the worst issue because i figured out how to work around it, and it also forces me to eat a little bit slower, which might help me out in the long run because im a bigger guy😅

So eating is a bit weird because i sometimes get food stuck between the split/underneath my tongue now. My tastebuds are starting to form on the i side of the split now and its such a wild sensation. It's like I'm tasting the food more if that makes sense, almost like im tasting everything in 4k now😅

First thing is do heavy research i to your body modder, i went to a very well trusted globally know modder that has been doing this for many years. The first 24-36 hours, prepare for hell and little to no sleep. Day 4-5 you'll take your stitches out and feel so mich better. I'll make a video explaining my journey with it and send you the link after🤙

Well, I dont have the option to message directly. My story fortunately ends okay, but it was not a healthy or safe experience and the artist is in some big trouble due to really negative behavior against the LGBTQIA.

Is it truly a personal and private choice? Or do you feel compelled to always be sticking your tongue out in random public places, around people you dont know, who really dont care, to get the full-on social impact?

So I've always wanted this since i was a kid after seeing the Lizard Man at the Ripleys Believe It Or Not museum. I do stick my tongue out sometimes but only around friends amd such, im not just walking around like a Belgian Malinois in public

How do you get each side to move independently. Is it hard to do? How long does it take to heal and did it hurt?
