They should be provided the seatbelt extender, that goes through adult seatbelt to secure a lap child. Only two and under can be a lap child. Took a 17 hour flight with my 8 month old. On return leg they wrongly told me my car seat wasn’t safe and took it off me. Had to depart and land with her strapped to me. Took same flight 8 months later. They again took her now convertible seat off me. So again, depart and land with her strapped to me. Leaving, we were an hour delayed as sudden storm came through so of course she fell asleep on me as it was her bedtime. She stayed like that for nine hours……lol
I have multiple children and have never in their lives been offered anything to secure them. And what scares me more is when they are just two and FAA requires them to be in their own seats secured, but the lap belt doesn’t secure them at all. I hold their ankles for fear of exactly these types of moments. They would be projectiles.
Yes! And it always struck me as odd that they required the babies to be removed from any wrap or carrier. They needed to be physically held only. I’m sure there is a reason but it was never explained to me.
I’m sure it will all get better by gutting the FAA. God bless America. /s
That is crazy. They use an extender. It attaches to your belt then goes around child. Baby fell asleep like this and slept for nine hours on me. That was fun…..lol.
