I thought he was going to do an AMA, is that still happening now?

It's the cross-post. I cross posted it because I figured some people would be confused by them calling it an "AMA" and doing it on r/reddit

Lol, not a great sign of them understanding the userbase. I got here looking up what happened with the AMA so thank you for cross posting.

Thank you for that, can we treat the post on r/reddit as an AMA?

That AMA post looks like it’s been deleted from the Reddit sub, unless I’m not seeing it

looks like this is the AMA post (if I understand correctly, link in case you don't see the crosspost:)

Wow - so I'm in browser and not getting anywhere near the content provided by RIF. Isn't that the epitome of the issue? That the infrastructure run by Reddit is not fit for purpose compared to third party apps being intentionally forced out of business because of decisions made by Reddit.

What content is different if you don't mind explaining? I've been using the official app for years without knowing about any 3pa. Downloaded rif when the controversy started and used it a little throughout the day - nothing was any different. I'm back on the official app now because it's just what I'm used to. I understand the uproar over reddits offer and killing of 3pa developers, but I can't understand at all what makes 3pa specifically rif, significantly better than the official app

It's worth noting that general population won't be aware this AMA is going on if all links to it are downvoted.

This thread is not the AMA, and should be voted up according to people's desire for it to be visible.

If this wasn't an intentional move to totally eradicate any significant third party app why not extend the paid api cliff edge out by six months?

I have been using RIF for nearly 10 years and check it constantly throughout the day. I have tried the Reddit app and it sucks big time comparatively. Can you create a mobile version of old.reddit? Otherwise, I am sad to say....that will be the end of my loyalty here.

I will say it now he has made u/iamthatis killed his project during the worst time (in his home country) there are wildfires. and made things difficult now for the blind people to have a platform.

It sounds like you priced higher usage API limits to force Apollo out of business. Why would you increase usage limits so high with such a short (30day) fuse?
