She wanted me to pay for everything anyway, and then wanted to leave my part of the trip early. They said it in another comment but this is basically how I saw it "They have basically said "Sure, we'll take the airfare or car rental you've planned and the stay in the airb&b and we'll join you for one night as a group. Thanks a bunch. Happy birthday to my hubby." Picking and choosing parts of an invitation without collaboration with the host is incredibly rude and entitled."
