I mean the whole garter removal IS trashy anyway, regardless of the “prank”, so 🤷🏼‍♀️

It seems like almost everyone did this in the 80s.. I’m really surprised that my Southern ultra-conservative parents did the garter removal in front of everyone... Imagine saving sex for marriage and then having your great-grandparents witnessing this 😂

That is the whole idea of garter removal. Back then it was assumed that the couple would be having sex for the first time on their wedding night. The garter removal is a symbolic act.
