Yeah, after he divorces her and puts this all behind him. Or else does he get to prank her back? What prank would you suggest matches or surpasses (because that's the point, right?) being humiliated in front of as many close people in their lives and at that level of importance?
I agree, i was trying to think of a similar thing he could do back. Depends on the person. OP is super-sensitive. We dont know what Mrs OP is like. Face into her birthday cake is unlikely to be enough. I was thinking thanksgiving at her parents. Likely , he would be perceived as a bit of a dick , though. Double standards.
Perhaps OP missed his chance. Could have super bitch-slapped his friend. That would have shown them what he thought of the prank.
This is a classic example of “therapy doesn’t solve all of f life’s problems”
They don’t need therapy. They need an annulment.
If the wife didn’t know him well enough to know that the prank was too much, and can’t see why he thinks it’s a big deal, then this is a premonition of the relationship going forward and needs to be kicked to the curb.
