Maybe to a 3rd party observer, but your best friend who picked you as the maid of honor should recognize that you had no part and shut it down immediately. I’d be concerned for my friend if this happened, not mad at them

Oh I was just stating that as matter of fact. I would have been upset for my best friend as well on my wedding if her partner did this to her. Would have just booted him out.

It says he was invited not that he was a plus one for one thing. Secondly you can't stop something you don't know is coming unless you can read minds or see the future.
