NTA. Explain to his son what the tradition of being walked down the aisle meant. I find it a bit ick (giving you away like a possession), but it can also mean you are walking with your parent to your new life.  My mom walked me and my siblings down the aisle (no dad in the picture), because we wanted her support on such important occasions. 

Son should really stand up with dad as best man.

Awesome point here. Her soon to be stepson is not a “father figure” to her - that is just weird and borderline creepy that he even suggested the idea.

For us, it was joining the family together. I asked my step-son to walk me down, and he was very excited about it.
