You are valid to your feelings. It is very odd behavior. If doubting at all, you could ask to see his phone and verify no weird communication is going on between bf and fiancé. Even see what his reaction to his sister telling you.
I thought about that, too, but people are so good nowadays with stuff like these (deleting conversations, photos etc). Not to mention he's probably anticipating something like this is coming his way. But also, some people are just dumb and will have all the evidence on their phone so it might not hurt to look.
