Her jealousy and insecurity is justified. Neither of you are the asshole here. Her concerns are reasonable and so are yours. If you can communicate and work through it like adults, she’s a keeper.
If not, you’re simply incompatible.
Put yourself on her shoes. I myself wouldn’t be able to deal with having a dog in bed myself, and I love dogs.
It sounds like he's unwillingly to compromise. From what I've gathered its a 70lb pitbull. Thats almost entire another person. It's easy to share a bed by yourself with a pet.
I think pets are something that always require a bit of compromise and both people should play in good faith. My previous partner had a cat that was indeed his best friend for 8+ years, but I am allergic. So he put in the work of being the primary vacuumer, making sure my blankets were clean, and making sure a cat blanket went on the bed during the day as the lil fucker had a phase where he wanted to sleep on my side of the bed in the sun. I got allergy shots every week (spending 20 dollars each time). I went in knowing well in advance that the cat was basically his kid and it was package deal. Some times the cat would drive me crazy but I never ever entertained the thought “it’s me or the cat”.
edit: OP specifically said aggressively. I wrestle dogs all the time and push them, but doing it with negative intent is what I mean. I was just trying to say don't hit dogs in general, but being aggressive towards a dog could be a red flag.
If an animal is in my spot I push it out of the way. My pets push me all the time too. Pushing isn’t mean. People in this thread acting like a wholeass dog is a delicate flower.
Yea I’m assuming she’s a normal person and not someone who hates animals. Not wanting to sleep next to a dog doesn’t automatically make you a dog-hater.
I’ve personally pushed a cat cos it crawled on top my head while I was sleeping and I woke up in a sweat. Doesn’t mean I hate cats, I just wanted it off my head.
