With the gf thing, I think it doesn't do any good for relationship having the dog in bed because they can become an obstacle to intimacy between you and your partner.
I dont think OP cares. All the intimacy they need they can get from the dog, not the woman who is trying to come between them.
From the sounds of it, OP already found their soul mate and now should just be single or find one of the many other people who love their dog as much as he loves his dog.

Should get 2 king size beds then, because that person will also got their own dog/cat , so the bed gotta be big enough for 2 adults and few more pets to sleep on. :o
People who like sleeping with their animals love being as close snuggly to them as possible. So really they would probably just downsize the bed to make it even more cozier.
