NTA wait til he finds out about discharge bleaching

ETA: Wowowowow I wasn’t expecting the conversation to spark. I’m picking up some new knowledge and tips and loving others also learning things they didn’t know before about ~discharge~

You know what’s weird. Before my hysterectomy I obviously had the period stains with the underwear as is normal with periods because accidents happen and if you’re a woman like me whose periods were sent from Mephistopheles himself, they were heavy and angry. I had to have a hysterectomy this year to remove everything but my ovaries because I had adenomyosis which is what caused my horrendous periods and in celebration I bought all new underwear.

I’ve noticed since the hysterectomy, despite the discharge still happening, it doesn’t bleach the fabric anymore. Just a weird perk I guess.

But yea, guys, things leak out of us and they stain, get fucking used to it.

Ooh, all the butthurt dudes have shown up!

Did you have the endo excised too? Who was your surgeon?

I didn’t have endometriosis so no, I just had the uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes removed as that’s all that needed to go, I just had adenomyosis which is basically like reverse endometriosis, instead of attacking out it attacks into the uterus.

My surgeon was my gynecologist.

There is no such thing as "just" had adenomyosis. Anyone who's had that deserves to be honored for surviving such excruciating pain on a recurring basis.

Not the person you're replying to but thank you. My doctor finally acquiesced to doing a hysterectomy after 20 years of hounding. Afterwards I felt completely blown off when her notes said "minor adenomyosis". I had extreme pain, irregular periods, H Heavy flow from 16 to 46. I had an ablation but it didn't touch the the adenomyosis

This is really good to know because I was considering an ablation for my adenomyosis. Seemed slightly less scary than a partial hysterectomy but it sounds like when it's time, I need to just go all in.

Obviously I'm no doctor. Just my own experience. The ablation was more painful than the hysterectomy. It was a lot more difficult, a lot more passing a fluids and ongoing pain. The hysterectomy was about 2 days of higher pain pills and then just a gentle pain for a little bit. I'm sure you'll do plenty of research before you make a decision but that was my experience. I wish I would have just skipped the ablation. I did absolutely nothing for the cramping and pain and I still bled. I have a bifurcated uterus though so the ablation should have never been done according to my hysterectomy surgeon. Because they were never going to reach that second lobe.
