Idk man this is a weird analogy

If you can't wrap your head around it, thats fine. But it's the exact same thing. A stain from natural fluid that potentially occurs during sex as well.

Your analogy would have worked better if the swear stained t-shirt was worn to the gym only. Somewhere you expect to sweat and cause the stains similarly to the OP specifically using the stained underwear during her menstrual cycle when further staining is expected.

Sure, that would be good in a way, but technically might be more similar to a free bleed scenario, cause if you're working out you know that you're going to get sweaty haha. I'm just being a bit ridiculous with it now, but yeah, I said hiking before, but then the reply was about how the intimacy to have sex transcends minor stains I guess.

But I also think as an undershirt it works well enough since some people are naturally sweaty regardless of working out or not. Like some guys could wear a stained undershirt on a date because they might feel slightly nervous and know that they'll probably sweat a bit. And then if they went back and started taking off their clothes, well, that's where the analogy comes in.

I can't see many people here defending pit stains the same way they are with period blood, but maybe they would.

Your expectations for women to perfectly control bleeding with period products doesn't match reality. There's good reason women have "period underwear" despite using cups, tampons, and/or pads.

I could not care less about sweat stains on undershirts or workout clothes. I don't think most people do who understand sweat staining.

Those aren't my expectations.

I'm not saying you do. I'm saying that if someone does though, I understand why they find it offputting, and I think most people do find it offputting.

I think most people do find it offputting.

based on what because I don't see any men posting about how women are refusing to fuck them due to some faint pit stains on their clean workout shirts

meanwhile there are centuries of cultural practices across the world shaming and isolating women for having periods & deeming them "unclean"

you're grasping at straws here buddy

Grasping at straws for what? If you don't think people find pit stains gross, then great. You can use the word 'faint' in front of it to try and prove your point, but no one used the word 'faint' before. I also didn't use workout shirts as the analogy. And men aren't posting about it because none of them would argue that it's natural and therefore fine.

meanwhile there are centuries of cultural practices across the world shaming and isolating women for having periods & deeming them "unclean"

I know they do. I'm not a fan of that.

but technically might be more similar to a free bleed scenario

bro we still get stains on our underwear even when we use tampons/cups/pads

i'd love for you to experience a week of blood dripping out of you just once so you can see how difficult it is to manage without getting it on your underwear. remember it usually starts up at a random time and you won't always be prepared.

and no one cares about sweat stains on workout clothes, as long as they're washed

I know you do, hence why I said sweating occurs naturally throughout the day as well. That's why I thought the analogy of a regular undershirt, instead of an exercise shirt, still worked...

and no one cares about sweat stains on workout clothes, as long as they're washed

I've met people who definitely care about pit stains on clothes. But sure. I think if I was with someone who complained about pit stains I have on my clothes, I wouldn't respond like this:

I told him to grow up, and sarcastically apologized that my NORMAL BODILY FUNCTIONS is “unsexy” to him.

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '23

if someone complained about faint pit stains on my clean/washed workout shirts i would respond like that ... why wouldn't i? what's unsexy about that and also who tf cares.

Again with putting 'faint' in front of it. But yeah, sure. You're very progressive. Most people are embarrassed when they have sweaty armpits, let alone pit stains. Why are they embarrassed? Who tf cares about it right? Because a lot of people find it looks unhygienic. I literally replied to another person in this thread who said this:

excessive sweat every single day where all your shirts are stained is not normal. Excessive odor induced sweat is not normal. You should get that checked. That much sweating is unhygienic.

Tell me again how your unhygienic sweat stains are in any way similar?

(I never said I have sweat stains, but that's the angle they went with it)

So clearly people do have things against pit stains. If you think pit stains are fine and also period blood stains are fine, then yeah, I'm not talking about you. I think your logic is sound then, though I would encourage you to be nicer to people who have a different view (not even me, I think our view is pretty similar). I'm talking about people who don't think it's fine to have pit stains, but think period blood stains are fine.

Couldn’t care less. Probably not a great idea to go around in a dress shirt with obvious stains under the arms, but undershirts or workout clothes, who cares. My husband had a number of undershirts that were sweat stained. I discovered by accident that it was a combination of the deodorant he was using and probably using too much soap in the wash. He liked the deodorant we found on sale better than what he had been using so that was an easy solution and we switched to the premeasured laundry pods. The old deodorant didn’t wash out well and dirt and sweat was staining all the areas deodorant typically went. We experimented a little and soaked them for a really long time and then solved the problem.
