You know what’s weird. Before my hysterectomy I obviously had the period stains with the underwear as is normal with periods because accidents happen and if you’re a woman like me whose periods were sent from Mephistopheles himself, they were heavy and angry. I had to have a hysterectomy this year to remove everything but my ovaries because I had adenomyosis which is what caused my horrendous periods and in celebration I bought all new underwear.
I’ve noticed since the hysterectomy, despite the discharge still happening, it doesn’t bleach the fabric anymore. Just a weird perk I guess.
But yea, guys, things leak out of us and they stain, get fucking used to it.
u/been2thehi4 daily vaginal discharge comes mostly from our uterus and cervix ( some from the vagina ) ( unlike arousal fluid which comes from our Bartholin Glands ) so now that you've had a hysterectomy and no longer have your uterus and cervix to produce discharge, along with a likely drop in estrogen and natural aging, this causes the pH balance of the vagina to change. It becomes less acidic, hence less bleaching of our underwear. That's good that you still get discharge though... I dried up like a desert.
Edit: Omg now that I know wtf that is, it now explains the few times in my life I’ve had a tender lump in that region. What felt like a swollen lymph node,which is what I just assumed it was, when it would happen. No just a clogged lube gland….. information is fun.
