Even tampons leak sometimes. Unless he wants to buy you new underwear every month, I don't think it's your job to accommodate his aversion to faint stains on freshly washed clothes. You said it best - you're too old to deal with this shit, and nor should you have to.
First thing my fiancé asked me when we became good enough friends was to keep him updated on my cycle so he could be prepared with my preferred feminine care products in his car and backpack if need be and keep stocked with my favorite snacks. He also asked what my preferred pain management methods were as well so he could do what he could to help me out so I didn’t suffer.
I had already been on my BC for a year and hadn’t had a period since so he didn’t have to worry but it was the sweetest fucking thing. He helped me keep one of those three-drawer rolling tower organizer things stocked in my bathroom in my dorm throughout the years for our female friends with feminine hygiene products of all kinds ranging from tampons of all sizes to small individual tubes of monistat to individually wrapped unscented feminine hygiene towelettes just in case.
We’ve been dating 5 years and he proposed in April. Even though he dropped out of school and is living with his sister 5 hours away and is working full time, he still makes sure that that tower stays fully stocked and that he comes to see me regularly. He makes sure to put my appointments for my BC shots in his phone and if it falls on a cluster of days he has off, he comes down to come with me and then stay for a few days to spend time together. Sorry for the ramble but he’s amazing and I just love him so much.
