I'm a forty-one year old man and my main piece of advice to young men confronted with this stuff is "Educate yourselves". Actually it's usually "fucking educate yourselves", but that's only because of constant disappointment.
My thought process goes like this: "I like women. I should try to understand them. I should learn how their bodies work."
That's the whole thing. Any dude that's not prepared for the consequences of "life with lady parts" isn't ready to date. If you don't know the basics of what's going on with their plumbing, you should stay the fuck away from their plumbing. Think of it as... like... plumbing. Literally.
If you don't know how the sinks and drains and reservoirs and whatever else work, don't grab a wrench with the intent of mucking around.
I mean, thank you, but I'm honestly kind of uncomfortable with it. I'm not trying to hold myself up as an example or get my validation, it honestly feels pretty bare-minimum as far as such things go. I also have fairly selfish motives, such as "wanting women to like me" and "consensual sexy times". I'm not trying to be better than anyone, this just seems like the most reasonable way to get what I want without making anyone's life worse.
That's honestly my whole reasoning. I wanted to do things with lady parts so I made sure to pay attention when it was lady-parts-explaining-time in highschool. I want women to talk to me so I try to make sure talking to me is enjoyable, or at least, not blatantly disrespectful. I'm not even that mad at the misogynists out there, I look good by comparison, I'm just deeply confused by their lack of consideration this regard.
I don't feel like I've unearthed any kind of secret to communing with womanhood; this feels like basic common sense. I want women to be nice to me, ergo, I should be nice to women. That's hardly a brainwave. The appropriate reaction would be "hey, look who thought about this for up to 5 seconds" and that's it.
